Church Confession 1616

The following was the official confession, in 1616 A.D, of the Church of Rome, when confronting the then Astronomical innovator, Galileo, who recanted and publicly confessed that his doctrine of the earth’s motion was false:

“I.—The proposition that the Sun “ is the centre of the World and immovable from its place, is absurd, philosophically false, and formally heretical; because it is expressly contrary to the Holy Scriptures.”

“II.—The proposition that the Earth is not the centre of the world, nor immovable, but that it moves, and also with a diurnal motion, is also absurd, philosophically false, and theologically considered, equally erroneous in faith.”

“And so we say, pronounce and by our sentence declare, decree, and reserve, in this and in every other better form and manner, which lawfully we may and can use. So We, the subscribing Cardinals pronounce.”—“ This 26th day of February, 1616.”

We Are Without Excuse

Earth Not a Globe Review Nos. 1-3

The inspired Psalmist says that “ The heavens declare of glory of ( and the firmament sheweth his handywork ”; therefore, whatever some professed Christians affirm to the contrary, the subject of Creation is connected with right views of God, his worship, and his glory. But if we would have a right conception of God, and his glory, we must see to it that we have a right conception of his works in Creation. How, for instance, do we obtain an insight into the character of any great man, whether he be a poet, politician, sculptor, general, or king ? It is not by his acts, or his works? But suppose these acts, or works, are misrepresented to us, or defaced by someone, should we not have , false and distorted views respecting the author, artist, or the maker of those things? Assuredly. And so it comes to pass in respect to the construction of the world, false views of the universe have led men into a misconception respecting the Character of God, and even alas ! in many cases, to a denial of the very existence of such a personal Being.

Let us, then, endeavour to come back to first principles. The world exists, and must have come from somewhere. It is “ unthinkable ” to say it came by chance, or any “ fortuitous concourse of atoms.” Its wonderful variety, the general co-relation and adaptability of its various parts, and the exact and never failing motions of all the heavenly bodies, prove, to any well-balanced and unprejudiced mind, that some grand and controlling Intelligence directs and rules over all. As the apostle Paul declares, “ The invisible things of Him from the creation to the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead : so that they are without excuse.” Rom. 1:20.

A grand truth lies in this statement of the apostle. Paul was no fool. It is allowed on all sides, alike by friend and foe, Sceptic and Christian, M. Renan and the Archbishop of Canterbury, that no one man has had more influence in forming Christianity, the history of which has for eighteen centuries been making the history of the civilized world, than the apostle Paul. His name will be had in honour when the names of the adversaries of the truth will have sunk into merited and everlasting oblivion. And this great man agrees with the Psalmist in teaching that the Creation, as set forth in the Bible, and as found in what some call “ Nature,” sets forth unmistakably the grand truth that God is. Now, this is a fundamental verity, and the foundation of all true faith, G o d i s . And “ he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Now, this faith is, on the one hand, neither an unreasoning credulity, nor, on the other hand, is it a bigoted (belief: It is based on an intelligent and reasonable understanding of the things that are seen above and around us.

The Book of Nature is open to all men; but it must be read and studied without prejudice and without philosophical bias. We must come to it like little children, with the honest desire to know the truth, and not attempt to read into it our own, nor any one else’s, plausible or implausible hypotheses. If we do this patiently and persistently, we shall be “ rewarded ” : the grand and ineffaceable truth will dawn upon us that God is.

We shall see His glory in the bright and blazing sun as he goes forth majestically, like a giant, to run his daily course. We shall own His Power and Godhead when the moon, queen of the night, rises in quiet and stately splendour, to reflect her silver radiance in every rippling stream. And we shall confess His wisdom and unfailing skill when, at night, we gaze up into the firmament and behold ten thousand glittering gems, shining in matchless beauty, and shedding upon the earth their silent influences, as they nightly perform their appointed revolutions.

“ The firmament sheweth His handiwork.’’ That vast and incomparable structure which spans the heavens, and covers the earth with its capacious dome, divides the waters which are “ above” the firmament from the waters which are “ under ” the firmament. And when we realize something of the tremendous size of this tent-like covering, spanning with one mighty arch across the whole of the outstretched earth ; when we considered its weight, its strength, its stability, and the avowed purpose for which it was made by the Creator, we can unhesitatingly and devoutly again exclaim with the Psalmist, “The firmament sheweth His handiwork.”

No wonder such a “ work ” occupied the whole of one day, the third, in the “ great and marvellous ” work of the six days Creation. Job, one of the finest, and certainly one of the most ancient, of true philosophers, when comparing the works of God with the puny works of man, asks : “ Hast thou with Him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten lo o k in g glass ? ” Job 37 ; 18. It is, perhaps, this mirror-like quality which the firmament possesses that makes unbelieving “ scientists ” think that they can, with their glasses, peer into what they call “ space,” which they affirm to be “ boundless.” As well might a child, gazing upon the bosom of a glassy lake, affirm that it had no bottom, and that the sky and clouds, reflected from its placid surface, were slumbering in the unfathomed depths below, and not above, its waters.

The idea of unlimited “space,” filled with an infinity of revolving worlds or globes, is not only a bewildering idea, unfounded on fact, but it directly tends to remove the Creator, or rather the idea of a Creator, far, and farther, away from this earthly plane of ours. It necessarily and logically leads to Atheism; and too often, alas! it practically leads men there. The idea of Heaven as a place, the abode of The Eternal, becomes to the logical and thinking Newtonian a 7nyth and God, if he acknowledge such a personal Being at all, becomes farther and farther removed from the scene of all earthly operations. Whereas the Saviour of the World, who “ came down from Heaven,” to do his Father’s will, taught His disciples to believe that Heaven was not very far off; that it was directly and always “ above ” u s ; that God was concerned in the work of His hands; and that as “our Father,” He was near enough to hear the prayers of all those who call upon him in sincerity and truth. This is assuring : this is comforting. God cares for the world ; and He will punish those who afflict mankind with their selfishness, their greed, their falsehoods, and their oppressions. Yea, God has “ so loved the world”—not the “ globe,” as some misguided Christians have lately printed and perverted this sublime text with a ridiculous “ globe” stamped on the paper—God “ so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” This, we say, is comforting. It is assuring. But, on the astronomical hypothesis, the world is like an uncared-for orphan, or a desolate wanderer: God is removed too far from us to be any practical use; and the idea of Heaven is so vague, that such a place, if it exist at all, may be anywhere or nowhere; “all round the globe;” or spirited away from us altogether, “beyond the bounds of time and space.” Thus the Christian’s hope is undermined, and his faith is eaten away at the very core by this insidious and so-called “ scientific” worm. This is most calamitous ; yet even some of our “ spiritual guides ” are either so false to their professions, or are so deceived themselves, that they cry out, “ It does not matter what shape the earth is ; we don’t care whether it be round or flat, square or oblong, so long as ’—yes, so long as they get a good “ living,” and hold a respectable position in society ? Is this it ? Such a confession really means, when put into plain language, We do not care whether the Bible be true or false, in its record of Creation, so long as our interests or our hope of “ Salvation ” is assured. But “ woe ” is pronounced against such easy going shepherds of Israel. “ Woe” to them who are leaving their flocks to become a prey to the devouring wolves of “ Science, ” “ falsely so called,” as the great apostle intimates. Let us be on our guard. There are honourable exceptions to such false shepherds and teachers, and others are being raised up to warn us. We have quoted some of their noble testimonies. Let us give heed to these needful warnings. God has never left Himself without witnesses to His Truth whether in Nature or in Revelation. We may shew this, if the Lord permit, more fully another time as regards Creation truth. In conclusion, we would call the attention of all our readers to the seasonable warning given us by the Apostle Paul, where he says;— ‘‘ Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ,” Col. 2 : 8. And again, Let us “ prove all things ; and hold fast that which is good.”

Nothing Produces Nothing

There is nothing in Scripture showing that there are other worlds, but the contrary, for God made the Sun, Moon, and Stars to serve this Earth, “and God made TWO great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.” And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, “ and to rule the day, and the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.” Now note — “ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Gen. i. i)- After this Moses gives account of what God created on the first, second, and third days of creation ; but not until the fourth day were the Sun, Moon, and Stars created : and the Maker’s purpose in creating them is given, (viz.), to divide the day from the night;— for signs, for seasons, for days and years ; and to give light upon the earth.— Therefore, I would ask the unprejudiced and candid reader to answer to him, or herself the following question;

It perfectly unacquainted with the teaching of modern astronomy, would such far fetched and preposterous notions ever enter the mind that the earth is a whirling globe, consisting of less than one-third land, and over two-thirds of water— tearing away through space at a thousand miles per minute (which contrary to all reason and experiences, water being level and not convex— and contrary to the Bible which tells me that the earth is outstretched like a plane— having foundations— and that it should “ not be moved for ever,”) ? See Isa. xlii., 5 ; Jer. xxxi., 37; and Psa. civ., 5. In the days of my youth my father used to tell me much about the heavenly bodies, as he took great interest in them and sometimes lectured on astronomy. He taught me that our earth was a “ planet” moving and rotating round the sun with its attendant the moon, at the rate of about 1,000 miles a minute, which orbit it completed once in the course of 365 days. The sun being one million three hundred and eighty thousand times larger than the earth, and that it was calculated that we are about ninety-five millions of miles distant therefrom (different astronomers differing from time to time, and disagreeing one from another in the matter of just a few million of miles !) But I cannot forget that with all due respect to my dear father, (whom I loved very dearly), I never felt to believe it at all. And the words lingered in my mind it is calculated; and the thought came (if not in so many words), how is it possible to start a numerical calculation upon, or without a root and real fact and number, and I wondered as a child will wonder where they got their starting point. The unit I knew was requisite before tens, hundreds and thousands could be reached — let alone millions and billions—-and not being able to put my thoughts into words, I got tired of wondering, and gave it up. But now I have come to middle age, my attention is again drawn to the same subject, and I find that these calculations have no true basis for finding the root number for their prodigious calculations, for neither the Bible nor Nature supplies them any one fact as a basis for their speculating. Nor is there one word in the Scriptures upholding the Globular theory— its alone support being “ Science,” which an inspired writer says is “ falsely so-called.” The root word of science— scio— means I know. But God’s word says that they (the professors of science) do not know (Rom. i. 22, 25) , which is further proved by their teaching being contrary to His written word— from which word we may learn (Gen. i. 7— 9) that the Creator made a firmament which he called Heaven; and divided the waters thereby. And God said, let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let dry land appear:” therefore the firmament, heavenly bodies, and dry land or earth, are most certainly placed between the divided “ waters.”

Isaiah xi. 22 (r .v.) gives the shape of the earth as a circle— the description of the heavens as a stretched out curtain— a tent. Job xxvi. 10 (r.v.) describes the outer circle of the world, as being

beyond reach of the sun’s light and in the 136th Psalm 7— 9, we read “ To Him that made great lights— the sun to rule the day— the moon and stars to rule the night— thus showing that they were created to serve this earth alone in comparison with which they probably are very small— but this— together with their distance from the earth— who can accurately decide?— No one could, either by rule or calculation, or in any way— unless God reveals it. (See Jer. Xxxi, 37.)

So I am led to fall back again upon my early conclusions that nothing than be produced out of nothing, and to regard orthodox astronomy as erroneous, being the outcome of human invention, and the mythical production of those (after the fashion of the spirit possessed by the builders of the Tower of Babel) desirous of going beyond their search— who only were the authors, and promoters in starting these theories, in setting them forth as mere problems, and suggestions. But years are supposed to have rolled them into accepted and solid “ facts ” which all truth seekers and Christians would do well to reject; and accept nothing that differs from the Bible account of Creation— to the glory and honour of Jehovah our God.

Quite lately, I have received letters from two correspondents, in which they ask me what the shape of the earth has to do with salvation? To the first enquirer, who had been himself dwelling upon the subject in preaching, I answered— know of nothing of greater importance than bringing to light error which upsets the truth of the Bible (as does the popular and orthodox teaching in astronomy), but if you do not think it advisable to bring it forward, why you do so? To my second enquirer who had introduced the earth as a globe in an article which he had written for publication, I quoted my letter in answer to my first correspondent, adding, that it was quite natural that Christian globe theorists should be desirous of avoiding this subject when they come in contact with Christian opponents, the former having not one word of scripture to uphold them,; their argument must fall through.

Examining the Different Climates Between the Extreme North and the Extreme South

The earth and ocean together constitute an immense circular plane, according to the other book of God, Nature. There are phenomenal proofs that the earth is not a globe, with north and south poles, but that the earth is a plane, having the central region for its north, and, the southern circumference

for its south.

1 Long periods of light and darkness, regularly alternating, is a phenomenal peculiarity of the north, but not of the south, and proves that the  circumference.

During the summer solstice, the northern or central region of the earth is illuminated for several months together, during those months it is a long day without a night. This is a phenomenal characteristic of the north. This being the central region, the diameter of the sun’s orbit in June is much smaller than that of its December or winter solstice, its speed is not so great or rapid as it is in December when on its outer path, or orbit on the Tropic of Capricorn, consequently its rays continue over the northern centre for several months. But in the south this is not the case, though it would be if the earth were a planet. In the south, on the contrary, the day closes abruptly in summer, they have little or no ‘twilight.’ The south seas beyond the 50th parallel, the sun will be shining brightly, and, in a very short time, the sailor who happens to be aloft, will be in pitch darkness. The sun seems to drop below the sea. At Auckland, New Zealand, there is little or no twilight. At Nelson, it is light till about 8 o’clock, then in a few minutes it becomes too dark to see anything, and the change comes over in almost no time. Twilight lasts but a short time in so low a latitude as 28 degrees south, according to Captain Basil Hall, so that from 28 degrees south, to beyond 50 degrees south, there is little or no twilight. But, in the corresponding latitudes north, the twilight continues for hours after visible sunset. In the northern midsummer, for many nights in succession, the sky is scarcely darkened.

2 The differences between north and south with regard to organic life, vegetable and animal, show that the earth and ocean is a circular-plane. The long periods of sunlight in the north, develop with great rapidity numerous forms of vegetable life, and furnish subsistence for multitudes of living creatures. But in the south, – where the region is circumferential (not central as in the north) the sunlight cannot linger, but sweeps quickly over that greater southern circle, completing it in the same time as the shorter circle of the north, viz., 24 hours, and so has not time to excite the surface, has not time to aid and stimulate animal and vegetable life to the same extent as in the north, consequently in comparatively low southern latitudes, everything wears an aspect of desolation.

antarctica-weather-2  The South Georgia’s latitude 64 and 55 degrees in the very height of summer, is covered deeply with frozen snow; but in the farthest north, nature is adorned with summer beauty; flowers and grasses bloom during a brief and rapid summer. Kerguelan, 49 degrees south, boasts 18 species of plants, only one being useful in cases of scurvy, it is a peculiar kind of cabbage; but Iceland, 65 degrees north, 15 degrees nearer the pole in the north, boasts 870 species. Kerguelan’s land, or.

Desolation island, was discovered in 1772 by M. de Kerguelan, a French Navigator. Here December corresponds to our June. According to Captain Morrell Kerguelan is situated in latitude 48 degrees, 40” south, longitude 69 degrees 6’ east. Many of the hills on this island, though of moderate height, were covered with snow, not withstanding that the season was midsummer. January corresponding to our July, There is not the appearance of a tree or shrub on the whole island. Captain Morrell, 1822 to 1831, in latitude 62 degrees 27″ south, longitude 94 degrees 11″ East, met with extensive

fields of ice, one of which would have measured 150 miles, east and west.

The bones of musk oxen, killed by Esquimaux, were found on the 79th parallel north, while in the south, man is not found above the 56th parallel of latitude. These differences between north and south could not exist, if the earth were a globe, turning upon axis and moving in an orbit round the sun. The latitudes corresponding north and south, would have the same degree of light and heat and the same general phenomena. The distance round a globe would be the same at 50 degrees south as at 50 degrees north, and the surface at the two places would pass under the sun with the same velocity, and the light would approach in the morning and recede in the evening m exactly the same manner. There would be a sameness of phenomena north and south, if the earth were a globe; but the differences are in harmony with the doctrine of the circular-plane of the earth and ocean. ”

3 The meridian lines diverge southwards, and the degrees of longitude increase accordingly; but if the earth were a globe, the degrees of longitude northward or southward from the equator would diminish. From the known distance between two places in the south on or about the same latitude, and the difference of solar time (or difference in longitude) we can calculate the length of a degree at that latitude.

Modern Astronomy or the Bible?

fig62  IT may be thought that there are a sufficient number of Periodicals in the market without adding one more to the extensive list. There are plenty no doubt, if they were all of the right kind. But are they? How many of them profess to stand by the Word of God as true and faithful in all its parts. And of those who profess to uphold the sacred Scriptures as inspired of God, how many believe and advocate the literal truth of the account of Creation as recorded therein? or the various descriptions

given by them of the works of God as found in what is called Nature? Not one! At least, we know not of any.

Not a single Christian Editor who in the face of the so-called “Science’’ of the nineteenth century dare contend for the literal truth of the Bible text given at the heading of this paper ? We repeat it, we know of none. We know of many, and some loud in their profession that they believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, who yet have declined to allow us, or our friends, to uphold in their columns the literal truth of the Bible in all its references to the material Creation. We deplore this fact; and hence the necessity has been laid upon us, with all our weakness, physically or numerically, to come to the rescue in The Flat Earth Review. God is able to use the weakest instrumentality to his own glory, and to the confusion of the enemies of his truth. Our trust is in God; and in the faithfulness of his Word, in all its teachings from Genesis to Revelation. Our {»otto is, Let God be true, though every man be a liar.

If Genesis is not to be relied upon, in its description of Creation, ‘how shall we trust Exodus? If the Old Testament is not true, what will ‘Become of the New? If the Creator, through his servants, the prophets has not correctly described his Works, how can we trust him for our salvation? As the great Teacher, who came from God, himself declared; “ If ye believe not his (Moses) writings, how shall ye believe my words? They stand or fall together. Our Lord says so ; and every logical and

candid mind must see it is so. We are prepared to accept the conclusion for we feel sure that no fact in nature is contrary to Bible teaching.

It is well-known that the teachings of modern Astronomy are opposed to the teachings of the Bible; but it is not so well understood that all known facts in nature are in harmony with Bible representations. Thomas Paine, in his so-called “ Age of Reason” says:

“ The two beliefs ”—Modern Astronomy and the Bible—“ cannot be held together in the same mind : he who thinks he believes both has thought very little of either.”

This witness is true here. But he makes the very common mistake of assuming, or supposing, that Astronomy must be true ; and hence he draws the unwarrantable conclusion that the Bible must be false. This is not “ reason, ” but assumption ; and is surely an unpardonable offence against good logic on the part of one who professes to “ reason ” We call the attention of our sceptical friends to its inconclusiveness. Give us facts, or sound “ reasons ” based on facts, and we will listen to our

opponents with attention; but it will be the province of The Earth Review to expose from time to time the flimsy pretexts for reason which so frequently are placed before us by those who oppose the Word of the living God on questions of Cosmology. We want the facts of Science, not

We want the facts of Science, not in its every varying theories and contradictions. For these facts we shall ever be glad to find room, in proportion to their importance and our space. But, we candidly confess at the outset that we do not know of any one fact in Nature which conflicts with the accounts of the Creation or Universe, as set forth in the Holy Scriptures. The God of Creation or of Nature, is the God of Revelation; and both these we believe to be in harmony. These harmonies

we propose to shew to our readers as we have opportunity in future numbers of our little paper.

We invite our friends, all over the outstretched earth, to come forward and help us. They can strengthen our hands with means and with matter. Short, pointed, and pithy articles, or letters—written” on one side of the paper only—and sent to the Editor, will receive captful attention.

Also marked and prepaid newspaper articles, or cuttings connected with the subject. Subscriptions for the paper must be sent to the Secretary,”

The Earth Not a Globe

THE EARTH NOT A GLOBE, BUT POSITIVELY A PLANE

The Earth and Ocean not a Globe; but a circular-lane, according to the two great books of God, Revelation and Nature.

circular-sailing  According to the book of Revelation, the word “world” is used more than 260 times in the Bible, and the word “earth” – 350 times. The words “round” or ‘‘globe” or “sphere” are never once applied to it. Not a single expression is used from the beginning of the inspired book to the end, suggestive of the idea that the earth is a planet, or, suggesting that the earth is anything else than a stationary plane.

1 Passages speaking of the heavens above as “ stretched out,” and the earth spread forth and stretched out upon the waters, so that the line of the heavens is parallel with that of the earth. Isaiah 42: 5; Psalm 136: 6. “ To Him that stretched out the earth above the waters.”—Psalm 24: 2. “ He hath founded the earth upon the seas and established it upon the floods.” Genesis 1:10, informs us that the waters were gathered together unto one place, and called seas, and upon those seas the earth was founded, consequently the waters are beneath and around the earth. The waters sustain the earth, sustain the earth as a whole.—2nd Peter 3 :5. “ For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing or consisting out of the water and in the water.” R. Y. reads; “ For this they wilfully forget, that there were heavens from of old, and an earth compacted out of water and amidst (or through) water, by the word of God.’’ Compacted—held together—leagued with— united. Now look! The earth is one—the continents appear to us who are on the surface as being a great distance apart, yet these continents are joined together; they are connected in the water and together they constitute one earth. These connections deep down in the water of continent with continent, are themselves sustained by the waters underneath. “ The waters under the earth.” Those waters under the earth, sustain the earth as a whole; sustain the earth in its entirety.”

The earth compacted out of water and amidst water by the word of God.” The dry land above, or out of the water compacted, united with, the earth in the water and that again compacted, united with, the other continents amidst or through water. The continent of America is compacted, united with the continents of Europe and Asia, amidst or through the water of the Atlantic. The continent of Africa, though connected with Asia by the Isthmus of Suez, yet is compacted, united with Asia and Europe amidst or through the water of the Mediterranean Sea, Ked Sea, and probably Arabian Sea. Australia compacted, united with Asia amidst or through the water of the Indian Ocean.

As the heavens are spread out above, and the earth stretched out upon the waters, so the line of the heavens is parallel with that of the earth. That is the reason why the heavens seem to close or touch the earth at the horizon. They are parallel. Parallel lines appear to converge in the distance. In a long tunnel, the floor appears to rise to a level with the eye at the entrance, and the roof to come down to a level with the eye, they are parallel; so with the earth and sky, they are parallel. The distant horizon appears on a level with the eye, and the sky in the distance seems to descend to a level with the eye. This has been particularly remarked by balloonists. At their greatest elevation, the horizon seemed to be on a level with the eye, and the sky in the distance seemed to close with the horizon. This is according to the law of perspective, parallel lines appear to converge. In Isaiah 40: 22, we read : “ I t is He that sitteh upon (or over) the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants are as grasshoppers.” It is not said here “ circle of a globe,” no, but “ circle of the earth.” He sitteth over the arctic circle and beholdeth to the ends of the earth. The earth being stretched out upon the waters, and therefore in its general configuration it is a plane, it is flat; the centre ot the earth is north, the circumference is south. The ends of tbe earth, the extremities of the earth are out towards the southern circumference. Cape Horn is an end, New Zealand is an end, Tasmania and Cape ot Good Hope are ends. The great God sitteth over the circle of the earth—over the north centre and seeth to the ends of the earth. Isa, 45: 22. “ Look unto me and be ye saved all the ends of the earth.” We could not live on a globe—a globe revolving on its axis and shooting away through space in its orb it round the sun. It would be impossible to live upon it, constituted as we are. In Isa. 4 5 :1 8 ; “ Thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it. He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited.” He says: “ I am the Lord and there is none else.” A revolving globe— a planet earth would not be habitable. A planet earth, such as the modern astronomers speak of, is a thing of the imagination; it does not exist in nature, it is a vain thing; it is not the habitable earth. What a cutting rebuke is here in these few words in Isaiah to the modern astronomers, the followers of Copernicus and Sir Isaac Newton! What a contrast to their theory. God formed the earth and made it ; it became a reality; He established it ; He created it not in vain ; He Yormed it to be inhabited. Can you apply these words to the planet earth of Copernicus and Sir Isaac Newton? “ Formed the earth and made it, established it.” Is it so with the planet earth ? No. It is not formed, not made, not established; it has no real, material existence. I t is just a thing of the imagination, supposition, hypothesis. God created the earth not in vain. He formed it to be inhabited.

God said, let the dry land appear, the dry land did appear. Let the waters be gathered together unto one place, and the waters flowed into the place appointed tor them, beneath and around the earth. Here we are on this earth—living, moving, working, trading, buying and selling. This earth is a real earthy it is inhabited as God meant it to be, and some of our fellow beings go down to the sea in ships and see the wonders of God on the great waters. This earth is a real, material earth, and this material earth, really, unmistakably and without doubt, is compacted out of the water and amidst the water. But the planet earth of Copernicus and Sir Isaac Newton is not real— it has no material existence, it is fictitious and visionary.

The Wings of the Earth

babylonian map  The expression “wings of the earth” which occurs in the Bible (usually translated “ends” as in Job 38.13) is sometimes appealed to as proof that the earth is a sphere and flying, as it were, around the Sun.

Rotherham, in the Emphasized Bible, says that the reference to “wings” is “simply poetic” language for “ends of the earth” – p. 525. But the expression could be derived from some ancient concept of the world, certainly not in accord with modern theories. For example, this “Babylonian map of the world about the sixth century B.C. Taken from a tablet in the British Museum. It portrays the earth as a circular disc, with “the seas surrounding the world indicated by the large circles…the two broken vertical lines represent the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.”

  What makes the map so interesting is that it depicts wings extending from the rim of the world: the biblical “wings of the earth?” These symbolic wings represent the fact of the earth floating on the waters, so this piece of evidence, contemporary to the days of the Bible, shows us what, if anything, the expression “wings of the earth” refers to: not a sphere flying through the sky or space, buut a flat disc floating on the surface of the primordial waters – of the deep or ocean (Gen. 1.9-10)

The Sun is a Light – 32 Miles Across

It is DEMONSTRATED by the sun’s rays it is 32 miles across. Also, the NAUTICAL ALMANAC bears out the FACT the sun is very small compared to earth but very large compared with the tiny planets.

sun set at sea  In books on astronomy we are gravely told that the sun is more than a million times larger than the sea-earth globe. The writers who make these extravagant assertions do not attempt to give us any good practical evidence in proof thereof. Their authoritative assertions are supposed to be sufficient, in spite of good authorities against them, and the oppositions of “science” against “science.”

Let an observer stand by night directly under a lamppost; the light above him will cast no side shadow. If he moves northwards his shadow will fall towards the north; and if he goes south his shadow will fall southwards. If the light were extended by a number of feet above his head, say for ten feet, then on the observer moving that distance underneath he would still see no shadow. That is, the vertical rays of light would cast no shadow for a distance equal to its own extent. Now apply this reasoning to the shadows of a vertical objects cast by the sun’s rays.

In northern latitudes the shadows fall towards the north; and in the southern, towards the south. The declination of the sun varies from the tropic of Cancer, 23.5 degrees N., to an equal declination south of the equator, the tropic of Capricorn. Between these extremes the sun is always at noon, directly overhead in places with the altitudes equal to his declination. The variation in which is the cause of the varying seasons. In these places on land, or at sea, the sun casts no side shadow at noon; and it has been found that this phenomenon extends for 32 miles. So that the column of the sun’s vertical rays is 32 miles across in every direction – a distance equal to the length of the solar diameter! And, whether we take the surface of the sea as curved or horizontal, there would make little difference, as may be seen in the diagram above.

Diagrams and arguments demonstrate that the diameter of the sun is only 32 miles across. Thus the sun is a small body as compared with the size of the earth; yet as compared with the planets it is a giant, and, as the Psalmist says, “a giant rejoicing to rn his race!” (Psa. 19.5)

The Nautical Almanac bears out the truth of the sun’s comparatively small size: it gives the sun’s semi-diameter as 16 minutes of a degree. One degree of latitude is equal to 60 miles: and as there are 60 “minutes” to a degree, twice 16 minutes” must be equal to 32 miles. The sun’s diameter by no less an authority than that of the navigator’s chief almanac!

The Truman Show – Star Falling

truman show spotlight  If you notice, there is a name on this spotlight called, Sirius Canis Major. Canis Major is a star constellation with Sirius being the brightest star. It’s only 8.5 light years away. Could this video be hidding a truth from the public but with clues left in? Those in power really know what is going on, that is why they are in power; are members of secret societies, etc. Could it be that those in the military with those in NASA passed on some clues to the bosses in Hollywood (their brothers in power) to say, “Hey, with this info you can make a good film; just don’t tell them too much. Make is similar but not the real thing.”

Could the “firmament” that surrounds the earth, as described in the Bible with verses like Gen. 1:6:

The most striking feature of the Old Testament world is the “firmament,” a solid dome which separates “the waters from the waters” (Gen. 1:6). The Hebrew word translated in the Latin Vulgate as firmamentum is raqia’ whose verb form means “to spread, stamp or beat out.”

In short, this “firmament” sounds like something that is made, a protection around the earth. Now, read the following, Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable …” Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.”

What I understand from this is, that the earth does not revovle. But we know the sun, moon and stars move. So, if the earth is not moving, the other heavenly bodies are moving – it’s either one or the other.

So, is the earth in some kind of huge dome? Are the stars, or what we think about stars in this firmament; and they are moving around the central point of this dome? We know that the star Polaris, also called the North Star, does not move. Since this is the case, how can the earth be speeding through space at 67,000mph (as it goes around the Sun). IF that was the case, we can’t have a stationary star.

So, how an the stars be moving? It would be something like taking a black umbrella; under it is the earth, and there are little holes in the umbrella where the lights are shining through. Or think of little dots of lights (of different shades of color). Then, gently turn the umbrella. Is it just possible that we are seeing this in the night sky? Are we, like Truman, being looked down from above; being judge by our behavior; while the whole earth is in a dome? Could this be it?

Sounds crazy, I know. But let me get a little crazier…

Could there be another clue in this film?

Truman-spotlight-7  In The Truman Show, we see that Truman sails on the sea. Normally he would have turned back because he faces difficulties, such as the bad weather, perhaps lack of fresh water and food. The produces of this “show” hopes that it will turn him back. In fact, it would turn most people back.

Now, think of this real-life parrell in today’s world. What happens when you sail south of Agentina and you are heading towards the Antarctica? The weather is very bad, the cold is bitting, the sea pushes you up and slams you down; again and again you are pounded. Most people would turn back. But if you happen to have clear days, you reach the Antarctica but what do you see? You see a huge ice wall – from 100 – 200 feet high. This, you’ll find all the way around the continent except for a small area. Now, wouldn’t that discourage anyone. Once on land, you have the bitter cold and wind to contend with. If that doesn’t stop you, the US military or some other nation’s military will use leathel force to stop you. This is a fact, but why? For some environmental reason? Hardly. There is something that that they don’t want you to see; something that Turman finally did see – the dome or firament that kept him in. Do you think that perhaps the world military leaders and others don’t want you to know the truth? The truth that we are being watched above by beings of Love as we go about our daily lives?

This should give you something to think about.

If the Earth were going around the Sun, then the speed of the satellite would have to adjust due to the different gravitational pull of the Earth. When the satellite is behind the Earth it would have to “chase” the Earth. When in front of Earth, the Earth would chase the satellite. Since the Earth is supposedly going around the Sun with the speed of 107,534 km/hr, the speed of the satellite would have to DRASTICALLY change to account for the change of the gravity pull.

If the universe revolves around the Earth, Earth’s gravitational pull on the satellite would be the same regardless of its position on the orbit. Furthermore, the Sun and Moon’s gravities acting on Earth would balance. The Sun is bigger but farther. The Moon is smaller but closer.

1. The Earth doesn’t have centrifugal force. Gravity is the same all over the Earth because the Earth doesn’t move. If it did, the centrifugal force would make objects weigh TWICE less on Equator than for example in Vancouver, Canada.

2. Doing the same experiment with a SOUND WAVE fortunately can check this. Doppler’s effect would apply.

3. Michelson-Morley experiment doesn’t indicate that the light travels with the same speed independent of Earth’s motion. It indicates that the Earth is stationary.

4. Microwave radiation is 2.7 all over the Earth because the Earth doesn’t move.

5. Weight of objects would be affected depending on which side of the Earth they would be. The “density distribution” theory wouldn’t help, because it would have to change non-stop as the Earth rotates. If the weight of objects is not changing with the location on Earth, then the centrifugal force couldn’t possibly make the Earth bulge at the equator. That proves Newton wrong.

6. The Earth doesn’t have its “density” distributed so exactly as to ideally match the centrifugal force. Such argument is self-serving, arbitrary and logically invalid because there is no evidence to measure it and therefore to support it.

( Note Earth’s “density” for which there is no evidence other than that it “has to be this way” ).

7. The shapes of “constellations” don’t change over thousands of years.

8. Earth is the only planet with millions of life forms. The Bible mentions only life on Earth.

9. Only humans are capable of having a “point of view”, therefore it’s OUR point of view that matters as CENTRAL.

10. Copernicus didn’t provide evidence to support his theory.

11. Contrary to Copernicus, it’s not mathematically possible to “calculate” if the Earth is revolving around the Sun.

12. Newton’s thought experiment with a bucket of water, indicates that the Earth is not revolving. ( The water should sway if the Earth was revolving ). That’s a classic example of lack of centrifugal force of supposedly rotating Earth.

Now we know that the Earth is not flattened on the top and bottom. If that was true, objects would weigh differently.

13. On time-delayed pictures of stars, the Polaris star almost doesn’t move. The only way it can work is if both the Earth and Polaris don’t move. The Earth is therefore the centre of the universe and Polaris is its end.

14. The circular movement of stars on time-delayed pictures cannot be created by Earth’s rotation. If the Earth revolved the paths of stars would be horizontal not circular.

15. Satellites go around the Earth because the space around revolves, thus acting on satellites. You can even put a can of Coca Cola and make it a satellite.

16. The constellations don’t change, year after year.

17. Heavenly bodies don’t collapse together, because their attraction is perfectly balanced by equal centrifugal force resulting from revolving around the Earth.

18. The universe is found to expand AWAY from the Earth with EQUAL speed, that means that the Universe STARTED from the Earth.

19. God started to create the Universe from the Earth, why would a Perfect Being put it later somewhere else? Wouldn’t he put it where it was supposed to be right away? He is perfect so why would He NOT start from the CENTER, as the center is perfectly balanced and therefore requires less effort to start there. By the way, did I mention that the Bible says that God created the sphere of the Earth and hang it on nothing? That was when no human could imagine the Earth hanging on nothing.

The Bible also says that the Earth is MOTIONLESS. Since rotation is “motion” and there is no motion, hence the Earth doesn’t rotate.

However, what we see is this. ( Pic.5 )

Polaris Effect: On several time-delayed pictures there are shown circulating stars. Supposedly, because of the Earth’s movement around its own axis. However, their circulation is in the wrong direction…

If the Earth is moving around, then the stars should “move” horizontally, with slight bent upwards on northern hemisphere and a slight bent downwards on southern hemisphere. That’s because the Earth is a sphere. The stars should appear to move in the opposite direction to Earth’s movement.

In fact, the stars are moving in a circle, around the star Polaris. Hence, “Polaris Effect”. The stars on the outside of Polaris move faster. It is because the distance they travelled is bigger. They also move in unison, which proves that they are somehow connected.

To make it even more puzzling, the time interval of the film exposure does not match the part of the circle that the star would travel in that part of day. I mean if the time exposure is 4 hours, then if 24 hours is full circle then 4 hours should be one sixth of the full circle. However, it’s only about 1/12. The direction of stars’ rotation seems to be the same as Earth’s… If Earth is turning from left to right, then the stars should appear to turn from right to left! If the stars move from left to right, then Earth may be stationary. The Polaris star is always stationary. The only way a point can remain stationary, is when both the observer and the point are stationary, or both move in unison. Since the other stars move in unison relative to the Earth, then both Polaris and Earth must be motionless!

Ever since Victorian astronomers pointed their telescopes towards Mars and wrongly believed they had discovered canals, mankind has been obsessed by the red planet.

Now these astonishing new images – captured by a European spacecraft in orbit around Mars – are helping to fuel that fascination.

They show in astonishing detail a network of giant valleys, vast plains and towering waterfalls carved into the surface of our neighbouring planet, millions of miles away.

And while Mars today appears lifeless and parched, they are a reminder of how its surface was shaped by fast flowing streams, rivers and oceans.

The pictures were captured by the European Space Agency’s Mars Express Probe – a spacecraft the size of a large fridge-freezer that has been circling Mars since Christmas 2003.

Mars Express infamously gave Britain’s ill-fated Beagle 2 probe a lift to Mars. While that mission ended in disaster, the Mars Express has been a fantastic success.

Over the last five years its stereo, high resolution camera has taken thousands of images of the surface, revealing the planet’s awe inspiring beauty in unprecedented detail.

The latest images show the Echus Chasma, a vast valley just north of Mars equator around 62 miles long and six miles wide. The feature is cut into a high plateau and its steep-sided cliffs – some 12,000 feet high – bear a striking resemblance to the canyons of North America.

Thunderous waterfalls may have once plunged over these cliffs, from the high Lunea Planum plateau that surrounds the Echus Chasma, on to the valley floor below.

Some of the images show a five mile wide impact crater formed when asteroids – lumps of floating rock in space – smashed into Mars. Others show a 15 mile long dyke formed when molten rock, evidence of Mars’s volcanic past.

At the edges of the main valley lie smaller light-coloured tributary valleys or “sapping canyons” – around six miles long and 1800 feet deep.

The Echus Chasma – described by Nasa as one of the largest water sources on the planet – is connected to a much bigger valley system called the Kasei Valles which extends thousands of miles to the north.

Both valleys are impressive – but are dwarfed by an even larger canyon which lies to the south. The Valles Marineris is four miles deep in places, around 120 miles wide and 2,500 miles long.

The images were created by combining pictures taken from different orbits. The images can be viewed from different angles in three dimensions

Mars Express launched in June 2003. The craft is a cube around 5ft by 6ft by 5ft with two 60ft long radar antennae. It is photographing the entire surface of Mars in high resolution, producing a detailed colour map of the minerals on the surface, mapping the atmosphere and probing beneath the surface using radar.

Interest in Mars is at an all time high. Nasa and ESA have announced plans to bring back rocks and soil samples from Mars, while Nasa has three probes on the planet – two rovers and its Phoenix polar lander, which arrived in May.

The Phoenix has scraped ice from beneath the surface of Mars and is analysing samples in its laboratory to see if the planet has the right chemicals needed for life.

In 2013, ESA is planning to launch ExoMars – a robotic rover than will explore the planet’s surface. If successful, it will be Europe’s first mission to the Martian surface.

Scientists unveiled plans on Monday to bring back rocks from the Red Planet as a preliminary step to putting a man on Mars.

Professor Monica Grady, at the Open University, co-chaired the expert panel that wrote the mission proposal.

She said it was a vital next step before considering a crewed mission.

‘If you can’t bring a rock back you are not going to be able to bring people back,’ she said.
