“He hath determined The Times before appointed.”

The Bible teaches the unity of the human race. When the Apostle Paul stood on Mars’ Hill, before the Court of the Areopagites, he said:

“Ye men of Athens, in all things I perceive that ye are somewhat religious.”
(Mar, R.V.) . . . “God that made the world” . . . “made of ONE every nation of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation: that they should seek God.”

In writing to Timothy, his son in the faith, Paul said that “Adam was first formed, then Eve.” And Moses informs us that “Adam called his wife’s name Eve” (Heb.: CHAVAH: that is, “living”) “because she was the mother of ALL living.” — Gen. 3:20. Yet some writers would have us believe that there was another race of human beings on the earth, from whom Cain was supposed to have obtained a wife. I prefer to believe the explicit statements of the Bible, that Adam was the “first man,” and of course Eve the first woman. Thus Adam was the federal head of the whole human race.

We cannot separate the Chronology of the Antediluvians from the posterity of Adam, and the creation of the world. When Adam fell into sin, and “by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin,” God promised a Redeemer through the Seed of the Woman. Satan, the subtle one, doubt to corrupt the woman’s seed, so as to frustrate the divine promise. And as I have been asked to explain what I referred to in my last chapter I may briefly say that before the Flood some of the angels “kept not their first estate,” but, as we are informed by Jude, “left their own habitation.” These “Sons of God” and Angels are called “Sons of God” (Job. 1:6; and 38:7) came down to the earth, and they went “after strange flesh,” or as Moses relates, they “saw the daughters of MEN, that they were fair, and they took them wives of all which they chose.” Gen. 6:2. The result was an adulterous and mixed race of beings, a race of “mighty men” and “giants,” which “filled the earth with violence,” and threatened to exterminate the Adamic race! In the general declension Noah was found “perfect in HIS generations,” and these “generations” are given in the immediate context. Not that he, or they, were sinless beings; but they had kept themselves free from the general adulteration and apostacy, while “all flesh had corrupted his way.” Noah therefore was chosen by God to perpetuate the Adamic race, the pure “seed of the woman,” Eve. God determined to destroy the corrupt and wicked race; so, by a Universal deluge, he brought about the “end of all flesh.”. “ The angels that sinned,” who were spirit beings, and in the form of men, and who would not be affected by the Flood, were therefore “cast DOWN to Tartarus,” as Peter tells us, “to be reserved for future judgment.” II. Pet. 2:4. Tartarus is therefore “down,” or below us, inside the earth, where those “spirits in prison” were imprisoned. See 1. Pet. 3:19. Comp. Eph. 4:9; and Isa. 49:9; 61:1, &c., &c.

This is only a very brief exposition of a difficult subject. It is not a new exposition. It was the ancient belief at the time of the First Advent, and before, as may be seen, not only from the testimonies I have quoted (which I take in their simple and grammatical sense) but also from the apocryphal Book of Enoch (c. VII., s. II). This Book is well worth reading, for an inspired writer thought fit to quote there from a grand prophecy of our Lord’s Second Advent. Jude, v.14, 15.

After the Flood the line of time is continued through Shem, one of the sons of Noah, as shown in my Table III. In the fourth generation after Noah, in the days of Peleg, who was born 1757 A.M., the earth was divided, or apportioned to the different families of Noah. Gen. 10:25. They had been commanded by God to replenish the earth: but, instead of scattering abroad to do so, while journeying eastward they came to a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there, Here the neglect of the above command culminated in open rebellion, and they determined to build a city, and a tower “lest they should be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.” Having all descended from one family they all spoke one language; but God confounded their language so that they were gradually compelled to disperse, though some remained at Babylon. According to the cuneiform tablets in the British Museum, the Kingdom of Babylon commenced about 1770 A.M. Mr. Dimbleby says “the Kingdom of Babylon was established in 1772 A.M.” This would agree with Bible Chronology, for we read of Nimrod, that “he was a mighty hunter before the Lord,” and that “the BEGINNING of his kingdom was Babel (or Babylon) and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinah.” Gen. 10:10. The dispersion would therefore occur about the year 1770 A, M., or perhaps a little earlier.

Babylon thus became the centre of a subtle idolatry and of general apostacy and revolt against God. Abraham was therefore chosen by Him, and called out from amongst these idolaters to become the father of a chosen race (Israel) through whom God determined to reveal Himself and make His Name known to all the world. The Chronological Line of Time henceforward runs through the seed of Abraham and the stock of Israel. They were to be a separate people unto God. Abraham was therefore commanded by God, who revealed Himself to him, to leave Ur of the Chaldees, where he was brought up, and to go into the land of Canaan. He was seventy-five years of age when he started out, as we have already seen from Table III., and as he was born in the year 2008 A.M., the great Sojourn commenced in the year of the world 2083. This sojourn of Abraham and his descendants was to last four hundred and thirty years, as we read in Exodus 12:40, 41. This important chronological passage reads:

“Now the sojourning of the Children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the self same day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.”

This statement does not affirm that the Israelites lived in Egypt four hundred and thirty years; but that the SOJOURNING of these people, who for a time were in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. Neither does the passage conflict with Gen. 15:13, or Acts 7:6, which state that Abraham’s “seed” would be AFFLICTED more or less for four hundred years; for this affliction could not have commenced before the birth and “persecution” of Isaac, who was the son of Abraham, See Gal. 4:29, compared with Gen. 21:9. Now if we add the 430 years of the Sojourn to the year when Abraham, aged seventy-five, in obedience to God’s command commenced the Sojourn, namely, in 2083 A.M. we shall obtain the year of the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt.

The Exodus year is an important date, and we have obtained it from explicit statements and figures given in the Sacred Records. Having obtained this year we are enabled to give approximately the date for the Patriarchs in Egypt.

Psa. 90:12.

Chronology is the science of Time; and Time is the measure of celestial motion. We have coined the word from two Greek words: Chronos (meaning time), and logos, a discourse.’ Without chronology history would be a blank, or a muddle. By chronology we learn the sequence of events in the world’s history. But as in other so-called “sciences” there is the false as well as the true. False chronology, which is really not chronology at all, gives a fictitious and an inflated number of years for the history of such countries as Babylon, Egypt and China, as also for the history of the world. The celestial bodies, by their different motions, not only measure out time in smaller portions such as days, months, and years, but they also measure out much longer periods, in various known cycles of eclipses and transits. And as these cycles work backward to a common beginning, viz., the Date of Creation, we can tell the number of years since that beginning. If therefore speculative writers, whether the so-called “Higher Critics,” or the astronomers, give us fanciful and dilated numbers for the years of the world, we have now the means of testing their figures by the great clockwork of the heavens. And the present position of the various shining orbs, the jewelled fingers of this magnificent timepiece, with their different but known rates of motion, show that they started together in the year 0, 1656 years before the Universal Deluge, or 2168 before the birth of Jacob. This is a grand fact, which no amount of ridicule or scoffing can upset; and it can be tested by strict calculation by anyone who has the ability, and the honesty fairly to investigate the claims of the Bible. This fact also shows that there must have been a “Beginning,” and a creative Beginning, such as that which is revealed in the Fourth, or Sabbath, Commandment. We therefore quote that Commandment with the greatest confidence:

“Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy, Six days shalt thou labour and do all thy work: but the Seventh Day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shall not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor the stranger that is within. thy gates:

For in sıx DAYS the Lord (Jehovah) made heaven and earth, the sea, and ALL THAT IN THEM IS, and rested the Seventh Day; wherefore the LORD blessed the Seventh Day, and hallowed it.” Ex. 30:7- 11

This is clear and straightforward: and let those refute it who can. Now if God in six days made heaven and earth and the sea, with “ALL THAT IN THEM IS,” I should like to know how much of them existed before? Evidently nothing.

We cannot allow the unsupported quibble which some offer us that these “days” were “long periods of time;” because the Seventh Day, or Sabbath, we know was, and is, a day of twenty-four hours! Besides, nothing but literal days will agree with the celestial cycles. According to this divine testimony there could be nothing of the present universe before the six days of Creation. For instance: there could be no sun, as the sun was made on the fourth day of Creation-week. Gen. 1:14 – 19. No sun, no seasons; no seasons, no fruits of the earth; no fruits of the earth, no one to subsist thereon! What then becomes of imaginary geological and evolutionary epochs? or a so-called pre-Adamite race? Arguments in favour of the latter are sometimes advanced, even by professing Christians, based on the recognized meaning of some scarce Hebrew word, or words, which, God willing, we may examine on a future occasion; but for the present we take our stand on the plain Word of God, as expressed in the Fourth Commandment, that, “ In six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and ALL THAT IN THEM IS”! And on the basis of this unimpeachable testimony we are convinced that nothing of the present Creation, whether in heaven above, or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth, existed, or could exist, before the six days of Creation week, which our Lord himself speaks of in the New Testament as “The Beginning,” Mat. 19:4

From this “ Beginning” we have already traced down the Bible line of Time to the Universal Deluge, when “all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.” Gen. 7:19. There are ministers and clergymen, men pledged to support Bible teaching, who try to belittle this testimony of a Universal Flood, and who essay to make it mean only a partial deluge; but the language of Moses is explicit and clear, and it ought to be received or rejected. Those who reject the testimony of Moses should also be prepared to reject the testimony of the New Testament; but such rejection is always based on a false Cosmogony, and on ignorance of the true form, and order of the Universe.

The Apostle Peter, in his second epistle, shows that this would be so in “the last days.” He says : “There shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the Creation.

For this they are willingly ignorant of, that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth” (or land) “standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.” II. Pet. 2:3

This order, of which so many are now ignorant, by reason of a “science, falsely so-called,” is in perfect harmony with the Second Commandment of God’s Law, which says that heaven is “above,” the earth (or land) “beneath” and “the water under the earth” Ex. 20:4. But when men openly reject the Law of God, and the teachings of the New Testament, we need not be surprised if they are given up to strange delusions that they may believe a lie. But there are some, I am sorry to say, while professing to know God’s Law, and keeping the Sabbath of the Fourth Commandment, who still refuse to believe the order of Creation as given in the Second Commandment, preferring the globular and evolutionary theories now, alas! so popular. I refer chiefly to an American sect of Sabbath Keepers, who are antedating what is known as “the third angel’s message,” while imperfectly understanding the message of the first angel. See Rev. 14:6-9. The first angel’s message will, in due time, instruct the world that the God we ought to worship is the God “that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.” This is according to the order of the Second Commandment, which order is evidently intended to comprise the whole of the Bible Universe. That this order will be insisted on by an angelic messenger, at the close of this dispensation, again shews the importance, and the need of, this divine insistence.

But, in the meantime, if we may accept man’s so-called “science” before the Word of God, respecting the revealed order of Creation as given in the Second Command, then why may we not also accept a – humanly-appointed rest day instead of the Sabbath of the Fourth Command? Let us be consistent, brethren, and not be guilty of the sin of unbelief in God’s own Word. If the so-called Protestant may reject the Cosmogony of the Second Command, can he conscientiously blame the Romanist who rejects its prohibition of idolatry? Let me entreat the brethren generally, and Sabbath Keepers in particular to be consistent, and to shew their reliance on every Word of God. The “WISDOM of this world is foolishness with God.” And it is written: “Every Word of God is pure: He is a shield to them that put their trust in Him. Add thou not unto His Words, lest He reprove thee. and thou be found a liar.” Proverbs 30:5, 6.

However, those who still respect the divine records, will accept the teaching of an inspired Apostle, as well as that of Moses, that the Deluge was universal and that the “world” that then was, perished.

I had thought to add something on the reasons (revealed) which induced God to send such an awful catastrophe upon the world, but my article grows too long, and some of my readers are probably not yet prepared for what can be said under this head. But to some extent the same reasons will ere long again prevail, as is shown by the rapid spread of spiritism, and the reopened intercourse between human beings and demons, See Luke 27:26, compared with Gen. 6:4. However, if readers desire it, and the Editor’s space permit, I may some time, God willing, return to this particular subject. At present I must pass on, and give our readers something further on Bible Chronology. Those who studied my first Table, giving the A.M, years of the Patriarchs before the Flood, will not find much difficulty in following the subjoined Table III., which gives the A.M. years of the Post Diluvium Patriarch, and brings the Line of Time, according to the Bible; down to the birth of Jacob, the father of Israel, in the year of the world, 2168.

That Man of Sin: The Son of Perdition

(Introduction:)

Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, a few days ago Hurricane Katrina demolished a major section of the state of Louisiana and in the aftermath of this destruction many local minorities have instigated riots, engaged in looting, inspired race-attacks and participated in several rapes where most of the victims were children as young as eleven years old. Many Christians are now seeing Yahweh’s wrath rightfully poured out upon a city with a longstanding reputation of blatant sin, more are awakening.

Since the so-called “911 attacks” the Christian world has witnessed major atrocities in both weather and wars on a practically daily basis while more and more end-time prophecies are coming to pass at an accelerated rate. Like labor pangs bringing forth the dawn of a new age, many believers have began asking themselves if this is the beginning of the end. This morning I intend to look into several Biblical passages that all show us ‘signs’ of what to look for at the coming end of this particular earth ‘age.’

We’ll begin by covering the entire second chapter of II Thessalonians and examine the son of perdition and then compare the similarities of ‘The Willful King’ found in Daniel 11. After that, we’ll turn to the Gospels and study the teachings of Jesus Christ on the abomination of desolation while scrutinizing His list of end-time clues, including the Parable of the Tares and Wheat. Some rapture-ready ‘believers’ might not enjoy this morning’s study topic but I promise it will be taken directly from the Word of God.

Concerning the end of time, no man knows the hour nor minute of its coming (Matthew 24:36) but a wise man can certainly discern the times for himself (Matthew 16:3) and keep a watchful eye. I pray that this sermon will help many come out of Babylon and spark a renewed desire in the scriptures for those Christians who are returning. Without the Word of God a soldier doesn’t have their weapon (Hebrews 4:12) and Faith alone cannot “quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16).”

I hope that in light of current events, this morning’s subject will strengthen our Faith in the returning Jesus and help us all to discern ‘the sign of the times.’ As you follow along, you might just be surprised to see how many “clues” are now in effect in the world all declaring the end of the age so I hope to present this exciting topic without naming any names. Today, I intend on giving you a lot of Bible verses that will substantiate our already-solid position so no man can say I’m teaching a ‘new doctrine.’

(Son of Perdition:)

So, let’s begin in II Thessalonians 2; “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition (II Thessalonians 2:1-3).”

Before even really beginning this morning’s sermon I’ve already shattered the fictitious “rapture doctrine.” Paul says we should not let anyone deceive us and explains that ‘the day of Christ’ shall not come until there is a falling away or apostasy. Those days are now upon us as so many Christians are being led away by jewish myths or simply splintering into their own so-called denominations. Still, the return of Jesus Christ doesn’t happen until after ‘the son of perdition’ is revealed to the world.

Here’s what this “man” does — pay close attention; “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way (II Thessalonians 2:4-7).”

The “instead of Christ” or antichrist is called the son of perdition and he will sit in the temple of Yahweh pretending to be God and swindle many with signs and miracles. “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work” means that this antichrist teaching is already in the world working its twisted agenda in aiding the return of the false Christ. One merely needs to look around at the type of false doctrines being promoted behind the pulpits of many 501(c)3 churches to see that these days are upon us now.

“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie (II Thessalonians 2:8-11).”

Seemingly tying into ‘the reprobate mind’ of Romans 1:28, the purpose for this sequence of events is to separate the wheat from among the tares by destroying all those who don’t desire to know God or His eternal Truth. The son of perdition’s antics will include “signs and lying wonders” that only the wicked seek after (Matthew 12:39) and this freak show will mislead many who aren’t already Christians “in name only.” The Word is Truth (John 17:17) and those who deny its teachings shall perish.

“That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (II Thessalonians 2:12-14).” These verses apply to the remnant “first-fruits” who were chosen from the beginning.

“Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work (II Thessalonians 2:15-17).” All three elements required to stand fast are the Word of God — Biblical traditions, the Old Testament Word or New Testament epistles.

What I’d like us all to focus on most is the fact that antichrist comes before Jesus’ return. The word “rapture” doesn’t appear in the Bible and Christ plainly taught that the imposter tares are burned first while the chosen are witnesses to the act. If your church teaches this abominable doctrine dreamed up by the eccentric teenager Margaret MacDonald then be aware right now that they’re not teaching a Biblical concept — Beelzebub’s name means “lord of the fly (#H1176)” so know that it’s his deceitful doctrine.

(Indignation Be Accomplished:)

Having laid that groundwork, let’s now turn to Daniel 11:29 and read a very similar passage; “At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter. For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant (Daniel 11:29-30).”

Like most “types” of Satan to be found in the scriptures he listed as yet another man-king, this time as the “little horn” Antiochus Epiphanes (Daniel 8:19). Still, we should compare these passages in a futurist sense so we can notice the many similarities and familiarize ourselves with “the abomination of desolation” as spoken of by Daniel the prophet. Antiochus was known to “take away the daily sacrifice” by placing an image of Jupiter on the very alter of Yahweh, in short — they’re graven or false images.

“And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days (Daniel 11:31-33).”

Like Antiochus’ bogus image of Jupiter Olympius, during the end-times the true seat of Yahweh will be temporarily replaced by “the abomination that maketh desolate” or more simply put — the abomination of desolation. Notice that the antichrist flatters those who do wickedly against the covenant meaning the Law while those who do know their God and His Will are strengthened in the ordeal and will do exploits? All things work together for the elect (Romans 8:28) against this bastardized version of Jesus.

“Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed (Daniel 11:34-35).” Many well-meaning Christians will fall aside during the antichrist’s apostasy but Yahweh’s true remnant of believers are completely protected through the dismal process until the time appointed for divine vengeance.

“And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all (Daniel 11:36-37).” Like we read earlier; “he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

“But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain (Daniel 11:38-39).” That says the enemy will be found “dividing the land for gain” — honestly, cannot we see this effect in today’s world?

(Abomination of Desolation:)

Let’s now read Jesus’ own Words on the matter starting in Matthew 24:4; “Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet (Matthew 24:4-6).” Are there any wars going on right now? How about people claiming to be a Savior of sorts? Sure, but the end isn’t yet.

Let me emphasize a commandment from Jesus — Take heed that no man deceive you. The Savior continues to say that many will be deceived proving that “the deceiver” is at work in the world. Like II Peter 2:1-2 states; “There shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.”

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another (Matthew 24:7-10).” Nation against nation, better put — race shall rise against race or “the beginning of sorrows.”

Jesus says all these things shall be, period. An in-depth study on “nation against nation” called Armageddon: Ultimate Race War! is available from Pastor Morris L. Gulett in his audio section at Legion of Saints. Nonetheless, in order to spot “the beginning of sorrows” we should all be looking for famines, pestilences and earthquakes in divers places. One only needs to go outside and look around to notice that the world is ‘off-kilter’ right now and all three of these elements are active today.

“Many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) (Matthew 24:11-15)”

Iniquity is another word for lawlessness and because of false teaching by false prophets the love of many will become cold and frigid. Love is considered the key word in these passages when Christ says “but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” so in today’s apostasy let’s all be careful to continue to love our brethren. Here, Jesus refers us back to the Old Testament and to the very verses we’ve already laid down as our proof-text. Beware of “images” or antinomian teachings.

“Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes (Matthew 24:16-18).” When war begins Christian soldiers will simply go to war without any haggles. In today’s “information age” the “gospel of the kingdom” has already been preached to practically the entire world yet the “famine” in the land is for the correct Word of Yahweh (Amos 8:11).

(Nation Against Nation:)

“Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet (Mark 13:5-7).” Like the account transcribed in the Gospel of Matthew, we’re warned to be aware of false prophets or deceivers. Yahweh has a specific timetable and when these minor points are visible it hasn’t yet come.

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. And the gospel must first be published among all nations (Mark 13:8-10).” Delivered up to whom?

The similarities of these two Gospels in capturing the Words of Christ is a testament to the sanctity of the scriptures within itself but there are small differences. In both accounts Jesus says true Christians will be “delivered up” as a sort of witness for Biblical Truth against their false teachings. Whether it be in secret councils or before enforcers of the antichrist ‘man-law’ we are to be a testimony against them always telling the truth yet we should all pay close attention to the following admonitions:

“When they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death (Mark 13:11-12).” Do not premeditate the words you’re to speak before appearing at the very seat of antichrist.

We can use these teachings in every facet of our walk with Christ, not just in an end-time analogy. For example, many Christian Pastors around the world have been imprisoned for speaking out against homosexuality and now find themselves in “legal troubles.” Speaking from experience, we have more power during man’s ‘legal’ judgment when we’re praying only for Yahweh’s Will than we do in dreaming up excuses or attempting to impress the judge and lawyers. Bow to no God but Jesus Christ!

“Ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved (Mark 13:13).” We should take note of Jesus’ Words and believe, true Christians shall — not might — be hated of all men, or the majority. Which particular Christian group is the most persecuted for their undying love of Jesus Christ? As many fall aside to “no devil doctrines” worse, let’s all be careful to ‘endure to the end’ by trusting in Yahweh’s perfect commandments and doing the Savior’s Will.

“But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house: And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment (Mark 13:14-16).” A Christian soldier is just that — a soldier called to active duty in Yahweh’s winning army.

(Days of Vengeance:)

In all fairness I should state that Luke’s take is entirely different and much shorter; “When ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled (Luke 21:20-22).” I leave it to you to discern these verses yourself.

The ‘days of vengeance’ are partially described in Parable of the Tares and Wheat so we should briefly look at these passages for even further clarification of the “sequence of events.” You will see that there is no so-called ‘rapture’ and Jesus taught adamantly against such a doctrine. “Thus saith the Lord Yahweh; I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, the souls that ye hunt to make them fly (Ezekiel 13:20).”

Fortunately, Jesus Christ explains His own parable starting in Matthew 13:37; “He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world (Matthew 13:37-40).” The subject is end-time events.

Based on the very Words of Jesus, a true Christian must accept the teaching that there are two seedlines — the children of the kingdom and the children of the wicked one. The tares, or wicked seed, are all gathered first and cast into the lake of fire and Psalm 37:34 adds; “Wait on Yahweh, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.” If the remnant see the wicked tares removed from the Kingdom than the only ‘rapture’ is that of the wicked.

He continues; “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear (Matthew 13:41-43).” It’s Jesus Christ Himself who gives us the ears to hear so these parables can only be truly understood by Yahweh’s elect.

At the end of the world age, Jesus Christ sends forth His angels to remove all offensive things including lawless Christians and they are cast into a furnace of fire. Afterwards, the righteous or holy seed of God shine forth in the Kingdom of God “in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10). These are the clear-cut teachings of the Bible yet so many like to hurl insults at this Pastor for saying Jesus said these same Words. Nonetheless, I intend on ‘enduring unto the end’ so I might be found worthy of joining this:

“I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God (Revelation 19:11-13).” The return of our beloved Savior is a blessed event for those who will be following Him to victory.

Here’s why; “And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS (Revelation 19:14-16).” No King but Jesus and no Law but His forevermore!

(Spirit of Iniquity:)

We should once again quickly examine the the three defining marks of the antichrist, they are — #1) They will deny that Jesus is the Christ (or ‘Messiah’), #2) They deny Jesus as Lord and #3) They confess that Jesus hasn’t come in the flesh. Can any of these concepts be seen in today’s society? Sure, Christianity and its morals are continually under attack by liberal groups and the enemies of Jesus Christ. The 10 Commandments are under defense and prayer is completely gone in today’s secular schools.

As if government-funded educational agendas weren’t bad enough, add to that “churches” that are also controlled by Uncle Scam by way of various tax-exempt statuses and pro-homosexual grants. The very church I would frequent as a youth is now one of today’s biggest homosexual, multicultural congregations in the city of Los Angeles. How could such a radical change overtake society in a mere twenty years? I lay the blame upon the heads of snakes, false prophets and demons behind the pulpit.

For example, I John 4:3 says; “Every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” Again, we’re taught that the spirit of iniquity or lawlessness is already in the world and remains as such yet how many modern believers truly trust these Words? To the godless, it is Pastors like myself or my allies who are “false teachers” because the wicked appear as righteous.

The Law is eternal, it’s required and mandatory. Sure, we’re saved by Grace (Ephesians 2:8) but we also cannot forget that; “Faith without works is dead (James 2:20).” The opposite of law-abiding is lawlessness which is iniquity so let’s all be careful to never fall into Satan’s lawless traps — all sin is a transgression of the Law (I John 3:4) and we must sin no more (John 5:4). This rule only applies to Yahweh’s Law however and when man’s inferior law clashes with our God’s we must take the proper path.

Jesus says; “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:17-19).”

Perhaps you’ve unfortunately been taught that “the Law was nailed to the cross” or something to that effect and this is relatively new concept to you. If so, I hope you’ll hearken unto the Words of Jesus who says that those who teach the Law is “done away with” are considered ‘the least in the Kingdom of Heaven’ while those who properly teach adherence are ‘called great’ in that same Kingdom. Neither Heaven nor earth have passed away so every jot and tittle is binding and must be followed, period.

Don’t be caught up in the antichrist spirit of lawlessness and support those who teach abominable doctrines that can’t be substantiated in the Word of God. We’re held accountable for our decisions and the very groups we support so always prayerfully seek the proper side of the fence in all matters. Many so-called “Christians” are out there fighting to protect queers, witches, mixing and so much worse — these snakes aren’t of the flock and we should be wiser then they are (Matthew 10:16).

(Intention:)

My intention with today’s particular study is only to prove there is no so-called “rapture” and that the Word of Yahweh clearly teaches as such. If you’re the type of student that requires even more proof against the so-called “flying away” of God’s people, then the internet or your local library will provide all the tools you desire to shatter this judeo-Christian myth. Don’t be caught up in the world’s deception nor be found serving other gods (Exodus 20:3) when the Bridegroom returns for His bride.

Beware of the media and their slanted agenda — we should never blindly trust the opinions of anyone regardless of intent, always contrast what you’re being taught by man with the Bible. If there be any ‘lost sheep’ in Louisiana during this time of sorrows it’s my earnest hope that they will learn to lean towards God and accept His protection. Amen.

“He Hangeth The Earth Over Nothing”

Another version says: “He hangeth the earth (the land) over no thing. But as we repeat, a thing which hangs is motionless. Besides it would be as easy to hang a plate or disc, as it would be to hang a ball. So that the only thing these texts prove is, that whatever shape the earth may be, it is motionless.

In the 10th verse of the same chapter, we read: “He hath described a boundary upon the face of the waters, unto the confines of day and night.” This is a description of the unknown regions of the greal beyond, which our sun never reaches. The author of the little pamphlet in question, however, admits that Newton was entirely wrong in his theory of light; and that gravitation explains nothing; at, when it is stated that the height of mountains on any coast is in direct proportion to the depth of the sea such beats upon or near the shore, it is reasonable to that land and water have been made by the Creator to generally balance themselves. I believe this, though no argument involving the globular figure of the earth and sea can be based thereon.

Bible The writer, however, makes a point of Isa, 11:22: “He sitteth upon the circle of the earth.” He quotes these words as Scriptural proof that the earth is a globe. According to this portion of Holy Writ, the earth has a circle around it, as Job said, in his wonderful poem: “He hath encompassed the waters with bounds until day and night come to an end, or, until the vision of light and darkness.” This is much clearer in Dr, Bullinger’s translation of the Book of Job: “The round horizon bounds the water’s face, and there the fading light with darkness blends.” Job 26:10.

A penny has a circle round it, yet it is flat; so, accordingly, there is nothing to uphold the whirling globe theory in this portion of Scripture, but on the contrary, the idea that the earth and sea together form a shining star rushing round and round the sun, and also rushing at the same time forward through space with the sun and moon, and the whole galaxy of stars, towards delta Lyre, at the rate of over three-quarters of a million of miles in 24 hours, or about 250,000,000,000 a year, is not only not in harmony with the teaching of the Holy Bible, but is in direct contradiction to it. It comes of the powers of darkness, and will lead back to them.

That word Khug, says the author, does not mean a circle drawn upon a plane surface. It occurs twice, in other places, where it refers to the vault of the heaven. “The throne of God is an orb, and…it teaches the true form of the earth.” Up to a certain point the author’s explanation is intermixed with truth; but in reality the words should be “He that sitteth upon the circle (chug, vault) of the earth…that stretcheth out the heaven as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in.” (R.V.)

In the globular theory there is no room for the Bible idea of outstretched heavens as well as outstretched earth. Yet the writer of Rogers’ Reasons tries to make everything fit in with the globular theory. Even the honest sceptic will see that this is not candid. We must not force God’s Word to make it fit our ideas. The vault overhead does not signify that the earth is a sphere.

Again, to say that because those who live in northern climes would see the stars in southern regions if the earth were a plane, is to assert that the stars are large enough to be seen all over the earth, and that the atmosphere has no power to deflect away their light. when they shine at the great angles they must make from the south. Also such an assertion practically denies the limit of human vision, and the rules which govern the known laws of optics and perspective, and many facts included therewith.

Our Lord, Jesus Christ, confirms the fact that the stars (hoi asteres) are but small lights not worlds nor suns  and He says that they shall fall from heaven to the earth. The fixed stars are so small that the most powerful telescopes cannot magnify them into discs. Jesus said that the stars shall fall from heaven immediately before His Second Advent. As to His statement in Luke 17:34-36, intimating that when He comes all will see Him at one and the same moment, though to some it will be early morning, to others broad day, and to others dead of night, it is said that this implies the existence of antipodes; this affords no proof against the plane earth teaching, but rather, the contrary, for no one pretends that the people at the so-called Antipodes can see through a globe, or look all the way round it. So that this passage about the falling of the stars is in favour of the Zetetic position.

When people bring up such flimsy things as these, as proofs of the globular theory, it shows that they are hard pressed to find ‘proofs.’ Yet a well-known Bible student has brought up these sayings as a proof of the common theory!

The different hours of the day and night are explainable on a plane earth, but it would be humanly impossible for all people to see the Christ at one and the same moment, if the earth were a globe. The antipodeans could not look round a globe or through a solid globe, so they would have to wait 12 hours while the so-called globe turned them half round. Therefore, what will take place at Christ’s Second Coming is proof on our side, and not on that of our opponents.

The references to geologic periods bear out my contention, viz.: there is no reliable data for the evolutionists’ assertions; but from Creation’s week Christians may know, if they will study Bible Astronomy, that the age of the earth is not more than about 5,903 years. This has been proved by the cycles of eclipses, transits, etc., calculated backwards, and found to be all starting together in Creation week; thus further proving that the Bible is the Word of God, and that the globular theories are vitally opposed to Bible teaching. Professors may take their choice, but all Christians ought to (and true Christians will) readily stand by the Word of God, which “liveth and abideth for ever.”

In a former article we traced the age of the world, through the lives of the Patriarchs, as given in the fifth chapter of Genesis, down to the flood; and found that this great catastrophe occurred in the year of the World 1656. We are aware that the Samaritan and Septuagint Versions of the Old Testament give figures for the ages of the Antediluvians different from those found in our Hebrew Bible, just as various speculators give different periods for the age of the world; but we have new the means of testing these years in a scientific manner by various Solar and Eclipse Cycles, so that we have no hesitation in affirming that the figures of both the Samaritan and Septuagint Versions have been tampered with, and that those of the Hebrew Bible, from which our own good English Translation is derived, are alone worthy of credence and capable of verification. This will be clearly shown later on; in the meantime I may quote from “All Past Time,” Mr Dimbleby’s “Antediluvian Solar Cycle,” which he affirms will show the dates of all the days of the week from the prime date of Creation down to the Flood year A.M. 1656.

I had better here briefly explain the construction of this Table II. I may subsequently have some further remarks to make respecting it, and another Solar Cycle of Mr. Dimbleby’s, when I come to make some animadversions thereon.

It will be seen that the following A.S. Cycle consists of seven years. These years are lunar, The lunar year is about II days shorter than the solar year, and consists of twelve months, or a period of 354 days. A lunar month, or the time between one new moon or lunation and the next, is 29 days, 12 hours, and 44 minutes, which is close upon 293 days. Not to be troubled with the half day it appears that the ancients gave 30 days to one month and 29 to the next, thus equalizing the months. I have therefore, for the sake of clearness, added the second column to the above table to shew the reader how many days are given to each month.

Now the first year of Creation was the year 0. It began, according to Genesis I, with Sunday, the first day of the week. Sunday, therefore, was not only the first day of the World, but also the first day of the week, the first day of the first month, and the first day of the first year. This is a grand date. It was the Prime Date of Creation, and is corroborated by the dates of All Past Time, whether in the history of the World, or in the motions of the heavenly bodies. God’s Word and His Works are in perfect harmony. But to come to the Table, Sunday being the first day of Creation week, the following Saturday, or Sabbath, was the Seventh Day of the week. Any one, therefore, could put down the dates of the first four Sabbaths in the first month, namely, the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th. As the first month consisted of 30 days, the last day of the month would be Monday, and the first day of the second, or following month,
would be Tuesday. This causes the first Sabbath of the end month to fall on the 5th day of the month. The Sabbath dates then follow in succession on the 12th, 19th, and the 26th; and so on, to the end of the first year.

The dates of the Seventh Day SABBATHS, in the last month of the first year would fall on the 4th, the 11th, the 18th, and the 25th of the month. The last day of the first year would therefore fall upon Wednesday, the 29th; and the second year of the cycle would of course begin with Thursday, while Saturday, the following Sabbath, would fall on the 3rd of the first month. The rest of the Sabbaths would follow in order by additions of seven days. The reader will now be able to dot down the rest of the dates for himself. Thus the weekly Sabbath becomes, as it were, not only the Memorial of Creation, but one of the fingers and a very important finger, in the great clock of All Past Time, and I think we shall be able to show, before these articles are finished, how many weekly Sabbaths have elapsed since the first day of Creation to the present time.

But I ought to state here that this Table II. consists really of seven lunar years; and, as I have already shewn, the lunar year is about II days shorter than the solar year. Therefore, in order to bring the lunar year into line with the solar year, these eleven days have to be added somewhere as intercalary days. They might be added at the end of two or three years, as an intercalary month; or perhaps, as a longer period, at the end of the seven lunar years. Mr. Dimbleby is evidently not clear on this point, though he says: “It is evident by their dates that they (the Antediluvians) did not insert the extra, or intercalary days, till the seven lunar years were ended.”

He therefore says that the dates of the “Sabbath Days of this intercalary period would be: 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70, 77.” As I have already intimated, I may have some further remarks to make under this head, about his two solar cycles; but these remarks will be better understood after both those cycles have been given, I will therefore proceed to show how the dates of the Flood Year are applied to Table II.

We have already seen from the Bible alone that the year of the Universal Deluge was A.M. 1656. We have now to ask: “How many cycles of seven years are there in 1656 years? If we divide this number by 7 we get 236 complete cycles, with four complete years over, and multiplying 236 by 7 we get A. M. 1652 as the first year in the 237th cycle. We shall see that this is so if we remember that we called the first year of the first cycle year o. Or we may prove it by the longer process of putting down the first years of each cycle in order thus: 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, &c., when we shall finally come to the year 1652, as the first year of the cycle. The reader can make this Table for himself, which will save the writer some trouble, the printer some space, and -the publisher some expense. Now if this Table he correct, the year A.M. 7652, being the first year of the cycle, the dates of its Sabbath Days would be those of the first year on Table II., viz: -7, 14, 21, 28. &c., because they repeat after every seven years. The Sabbaths of the year, A. M. 1653, would have the dates of the second year of the cycle; A.M. 1654, those of the 3rd year; A.M. 1655, those of the 4th year; and A.M.1656, the Flood Year would have those of the 5th year of the cycle. We may now compare the dates of these Sabbath Days with the dates given by Moses in his account of the particular events of the Flood. In doing so, we shall find the remarkable fact that in putting down the dates of the Sabbath Days for the fifth and sixth years of the cycle, we have unconsciously written down nine out of the ten dates given by Moses himself!

Let us briefly refer to them. We find from Gen.7:1, 4, that Noah was finally warned one week before the rain came, to take his family, and everything else needed, inside the ark. Verse II gives us, the two dates. The booth year of Noah’s life, as we have already seen, was A.M. 1656. We read: “In the second month, and the 17th day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows (margin: FLOODGATES) of heaven were opened.” These two dates, the coth and 17th, are found in the second month of the fifth year of the cycle, according to which they were both Sabbath Days when God thus revealed Himself to man. Noab and his family being safely “shut in,” the flood rains began, and lasted forty days, that is: from the 17th of the second month until the the 27th of the third month. So great was the volume of water from these two sources that we read: “All the high hills that were under the whole heaven were covered.” This shows that the Flood was not a mere local affair, as some would belittle it to accommodate it to their so-called “science;” but that it was an awful and a universal catastrophe. The passage also teaches that all the hills of the earth were “under the whole heaven;” that is, that heaven is everywhere “above” the earth, not all round and consisting of mere empty “space!” How could the floodgates of heaven be “opened” in empty “space”? And let me remind the reader that it is not only a question of believing Moses, who was a learned man, but our exalted Redeemer, who “came DOWN from heaven,” and who says: “HEREAFTER ye shall SEE heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” John 1:51. Blessed be His great and glorious Name for ever and ever.

The next date given is found in Gen. 8:4, where we are informed that the Ark rested on the mountains of Ararat, “in the seventh month, on the 17th day of the month.” In the last verse of the previous chapter we are told that the waters “prevailed upon the earth 150 days.” These, with the previous 40 days’ rain, make 190, ending with the eighth month, on the 29th day. See Table. The “tops of the mountains were scen” in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, which gives the beginning of the forty days Noah waited before he “opened the window of the Ark” and sent forth a raven, which returned not, and “also he sent forth a dove,” which did return. This would be on the 11th day of the 11th month, which is again found in the Table. After seven days he sent forth the dove again, which returned with an olive leaf. This would be on the 18th. Then Noah waited “yet OTHER seven days,” before sending out the dove a third time, on the 25th, after which the dove returned to the Ark no more.

Then, in the beginning of the following year A.M. 1657, the 1st day of the first month, “the waters were dried up from off the earth.” Gen. 8:13. And in the second month, and the 27th day of the month, the earth being thoroughly dry, God commanded Noah to come forth from the Ark, after being in it 365 days, or one solar year. Gen. 8:14 17

In THE SABBATH OF CREATION for December, 1902, I promised, God willing, to bring forward some of the evidence we have for Bible Chronology, and the fact that the Seventh Day Sabbath has come down to us from the Creation of the World in an unbroken line of weeks through All Past Time. This is a great subject, and one that needs close application and a good state of health for a comprehensive study and elucidation; so that with dyspepsia, writer’s cramp, and other infirmities, I should hesitate to approach the subject did I not look for help and guidance from the great Author of all created beings. It must however be pleasing to the Creator that His creatures should study His marvellous works; yet in this particular branch Chronology I have been surprised to find how few Christians there are who are sufficiently interested therein to take the necessary pains to acquire an intelligent and general view of the subject. I write therefore with a view to stimulate others to take an interest in this great theme, and not with any idea of exhausting the enquiry; and I trust that, while many may be helped with the few articles I propose to give in THE SABBATH OF CREATION, some one or other may be raised up to pursue the subject further until we have the light of chronological truth shining upon the pages of Inspiration as clearly as that which we have already obtained upon their cosmological teachings, and as now set forth in our other paper, entitled THE EARTH, and formerly in The EARTH (not a globe) REVIEW.

In studying this subject I have also been surprised to find so many definite dates. given in the Bible, and many of these dates capable of being scientifically tested by the solar cycles; and the conviction has grown stronger in my mind that the Bible is a much more scientific Book than the general reader, or even the general student is aware. No forger of historical writings, and even no honest, but haphazard, and uninspired, writers could venture to give so many historical dates without sooner or later, and probably sooner than later, being found out as unreliable. But the Bible has withstood every truly scientific test that has been applied to it, both in its Cosmogony and its Chronology; so that we can now intelligently subscribe to the emphatic words of our blessed Lord when He said:

“THE SCRIPTURES CANNOT BE BROKEN.”

Even as a youth of twelve years of age the Lord Jesus shewed such understanding of the Sacred Writings as astonished the Doctors or Jewish Rabbis, in the study of divine things He was an example to us and to our youth, shewing how we should early lead our children into the knowledge of these mysteries. And we have found that when the Bible is honestly and intelligently studied, apart from sectarian creeds and commentaries, it is not only the most instructive book in the world, but one of the most, if not the most, interesting. As the Psalmist writes, “The entrance of Thy Word giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” Psa. 119:130.

Proceeding at once to our subject, I shall give in tabulated form the years of the lives of the Antediluvian Patriarchs from father to son. This table will show how many years, according to the Bible, elapsed between the creation of Adam in the year nought (o), to the year of the Universal Deluge.

According to the following Table Adam was created in the year o. We must not call his first year our year one of Creation, until that year was complete; otherwise we shall be confused with subsequent additions. We must reckon the years of Creation as we do the years of a person’s life, counting the first year nothing in years until it is ended; and so on in all subsequent years. If we look at the first line and fourth column of the Table we find that Adam was 130 years old at the birth of his son Seth; Seth therefore was born in the A.M. year or Anno Mundi (year of the World) 130, as shown in the second line and first column.

Again, Seth was 105 years of age according to the Text given in the third column, when his son Enos was born. Add therefore, 105 years to the 130, and we obtain 235 AM. as the year of the World when Enos was born. Proceeding in the same way, through the patriarchal line, we find that the year of the Universal Deluge was the year of the World 1656, that is, so many years from the Creation of the World.

The A. M. dates of the deaths of the Antediluvian Patriarchs, as given in the seventh column of the Table, are also interesting, as shewing with whom they were severally contemporary; but as these dates are not directly connected with our Line of Time from Creation we shall leave them for the comparison of the intelligent reader. It will be seen that as Adam died in the A.M. year 930, he lived almost to the time of the translation of Enoch (A. M. 987) who was the seventh from Adam, and who prophesied of the Lord’s Second Coming, as recorded by Jude. It will also be noticed that Methuselah died during the Flood year.

In our investigations we shall deal principally with A. M. years, as they will supply us with a continuous Line of Time from the Creation of the World down to the present; especially as this Line of Time can be tested by the Cycles of Eclipses which have already taken place, and the various individual Eclipses which are now actually taking place. Thus the Works of God will be seen to harmonise with, and to support, the Word of God. To Him, therefore, be all the praise and glory.

What causes clouds of vapour to be precipitated in showers of rain? There must be some definite active motive power. Electricity, which is in itself a “mode of motion,” is a subtle agent or power in Nature, evolved in some disturbance of molecular equilibrium, whether from a chemical, physical, or mechanical cause, and exhibiting itself in a variety of ways, e.g., electro-chemistry: that science which treats of the agency of electricity in effecting chemical changes; electrolysis; the process of chemical decomposition by electricity as to send it to the earth in showers of rain. This brings to the statement made by Lord Kelvin in the Natural Philosophy Class Room, when referring to some experiments, he remarked: “I believe there never is rain without lightning.”

Bearing in mind the last quotation, and the remarks preceding it, if we again turn to Psalm 135:7, we read: “ He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings for the rain; He bringeth the wind out of His treasuries.” So, as Roger, in his Reasons, truly says, “Here is the very discovery towards which the biggest electrician of his day is only now feeling his way!” I have thought over the same verse of the Psalm, and have come to the same conclusion. This should strengthen our belief in the Bible and its Divine source, and that any statement not in harmony therewith will be found to be fallacious. How do the clouds become rain? “There is one kind of electricity in this cloud, and the opposite kind in that which meets it. The contact begets the lightning flash; the shock inasses the globules together, the rain is precipitated; and the waiting earth is refreshed.”

God has stretched out “the heavens as a curtain.” I do not say that the Hebrew word dok, translated ‘curtain, does not mean thinness; but to argue that “a cupful would make a globe of ether as big as the earth,” is going outside sense and reason, as well as out of the context and other portions of the Bible. We read in Isaiah 11:22, R.V.: “He that sitteth upon the circle (vault) of the earth…… that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in,” and we are told in Job 37:18, R.V., that He spread out the sky which is strong as a molten mirror;” and again, in Prov, 8:27, 28, R.V., “He set a circle upon the face of the deep; when He made firin the skies above.”

“You cannot deny, at any rate, said one of the speakers in Roger’s Reasons, that the Bible teaches the flatness of the earth. We left Rome to fight that battle out with Galileo, was the quoted reply, but we have to own that Rome had the Bible on its (her) side. The last speaker cannot be contradicted in this respect, although the author of the pamphlet quibbles, and endeavours to show that the language of the Bible is in accord with a whirling sea earth globe. But who ever heard of a globe having ends?

Yet the Bible refers to the ends of the earth and how can a globe, moving at the rate of about 1,100 miles a minute, be fixed on “foundations” and “pillars”? Hannah said and sung: “The pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, and He hath set the world upon them.” I Sam. 2:8. Again, we read: “He founded the earth upon her bases that it should not be moved for ever; the world also is established that it cannot be moved.” The foundations of the earth (land) an outstretched and motionless plane, proved by the fact that water everywhere is level. We read that he spread forth the earth above the waters; and again we are told heaven above…earth beneath… water under the earth  not empty space all round a whirling globe, nor the sea resting upon the earth, but the earth resting in and upon the waters of the mighty (“He hangeth the earth upon nothing” (Job 26:7), that is, as one learned Hebrew scholar says, “upon no thing.”

I have frequently reminded my readers, and hearers, that the correct translation is not that of a suspended globe in empty space. “He stretcheth out the north over the empty space, and does not hang the earth (or land) upon any thing.” This passage of Scripture is frequently brought up by our opponents, but it does not prove the globular teaching at all. In dealing with this verse, in the first place, we hold that the word ‘earth’ means the land portion of the world, and the land only; and therefore it does not include the sea.

Now Job was referring to the land in the north, over which the northern heavens are spread. And the earth beneath it (the land in the north) hangeth upon “no thing,” having neither “pillars” nor foundations, save the waters of the great deep. Job proves his inspiration by this statement of fact, written hundreds of years before any man had attempted to explore the north magnetic centre. A thing hung up is motionless.

Very funny and we know why!

On sputniknews.com there is a story about NASA having to cancel spacewalks because of water filling the helmets and they don’t know why! LOL. Well, we know why? Because it’s all done in a swimming pool but they don’t tell you. However, because it’s happening, they have to stop faking space walks. This is so funny you can’t make this up!

If they were really in space AND if space is what we are told, then why is there water in the first place? For years, the fake story was that there is no water in space. We are also told that it’s extremely hot or extremely cold – depending if you are in the sun or not. OK, let’s go along with what they TOLD us. If it’s extremely hot, the water would all evaporate; it it’s extremely cold, it would be ice and no water would be able to get in in the first place. Another problem would be, how does the space capsule or space station travel through all that water? LOL

What makes this stupider is, how many people believe this BULL? Unfortunately, too many.

It’s gets funnier. We are told that the spacesuits contain water as a coolant and it holds urine. Of course, they have to have some excuse of why water is in the suit. But think of this, if you are a worker and put on your uniform, would you need to store your urine? No, because you pee when you get back inside. As for water as a coolant how can that keep Astro-nots cool as it would all evaporate, and for many other reasons. Finally, and we have said this before, why in the hell would you go out and repair your vehicle when it’s travelling over 17,000mph? If there is something wrong with it on the outside, you’d have to take it into the “shop” to get it repaired.

This agrees perfectly with ascertained facts, and the valued reports of trustworthy explorers. The following is reliable, authentic, and in perfect harmony with the aforesaid statements of Holy Writ:

“March 16, Sun rises, preceded by a long dawn of 47 days, (from Jan. 19th, when first glimmer appears).

“On 25th Sept., the sun sets, and, after a twilight of 48 days, darkness reigns supreme for 76 days.

“The sun remains above the horizon, 194 days.

“The year is thus divided at the Poles: 194 days sun; 171 days, no sun, 48 twilight, 76 dark, 47 days dawn.”  Capt. Bedford Pim, R.N., in Marine Pocket Case.

Let us turn to Ps. 135:7: “He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; He maketh lightnings for the rain; He bringeth the wind out of His treasuries.”

The meteorology of that Psalm is abreast with, and actually in advance of, our twentieth century “science.” Even our science has discovered how to produce light from liquids and metals. So that light could exist without the sun, and did so exist according to the Bible, which all Zetetics believe. That God created the luminiferous cther before He created the sun and moon, we may learn from the opening words of the Bible. In Gen, i. 3, the Hebrew word, translated “light,” is, or should more correctly be rendered luminiferous ether, or ‘electricity;’ and in verse 14 the word is M’or, light-holder, or the holder of it.

In a pamphlet, which I have just published, entitled: Zetetic Astronomy, or the Sun’s Motions North and South, etc.; by myself (Lady Blount) and Albert Smith, it is shown that the Bible is provell to be eminently scientific from the fact that the luminiferous Ether was first created, and started in inotion all around and over the level waters of the sea, and this motion is the cause of all other motion and force which is in the world.

But referring again to the subject of rain. Rain is admittedly caused by the falling of the watery vapours, which have been drawn up into the upper regions of the air by the power of the sun. The multitude of little globules, having air inside and watery vapours outside, will, if left when they are formed, fall again upon the Sea, and the earth’s thirst will be unquenched. Will the action of light disperse them?

It is true that light is a complex, powerful, and all-pervading form of energy, traversing “unto the limits” of its appointed bounds in the universe known to us. Scientists differ in their conclusions regarding its velocity; but by some it is said to be about 186,000 miles in a second (!). But this immense speed has been calculated upon the assumption that the planets, and the sun and moon, are at immense distances from the earth, whereas we know they are only a few thousand miles away  even the farthest of them. Yet, according to Dr. Bradley, there is aberration of light. At the same time, does light convey to us anything of a material character?

Now, let a long tube be held perpendicularly, at perfect rest, while a falling body (a drop of a shower of rain) passes down its axis. If the drop entered at the centre of the upper orifice of the tube, and issued at that of the lower, knowing the tube to be exactly vertical, an observer would conclude that the descent of the drop was also vertical. If, however, the tube and the observer were carried uniformly forward as the drop fell, the hinder part of the tube would then advance to meet the drop. In this case, in order that the drop may fall through the length of the moving tube, the latter must be inclined, in the manner illustrated below.

Let the tube have the direction A B, and let it move parallel to itself, so that the end A travels to By then the drop will emerge without touching the tube. If the observer did not know that the tube advanced, he might think that the drop fell in the direction D A. This is a sort of paraphrase of the astronomical phenomena  the raindrop representing the light, and the tube the telescope  A B being said to be the velocity of the earth, and D B, or C A, the velocity of light; but the evidence of our senses tells us that the earth does not move along its base, and that rain-drops fall sometimes perpendicularly, and at other times obliquely, which may be accounted for by the drift of the current through which, and along which, the rain-drops pass to the earth.

Where light, however, for all practical purposes, is absent, there is not necessarily an absence of rain; in fact rain is opposed to the full manifestation of light; but no doubt the movements of the air (called “winds”) have a marked effect in respect to the prolongation, or otherwise, of rain, Suffice it to say that different movements in the air produce different winds; e.g., trade-winds, countertrade-winds, and monsoons (from the Arabic word signifying “season”), which are due to the circumstance that continents become more heated than oceans under the same sun. There are naturally land-breezes and sea breezes. In hot countries bordering on the sea the land is hotter than the sea by day and cooler by night; hence in the day-time, the air over the land rises, and air flows in from the sea. At night the air over the land grows heavier and sinks, presently flowing backwards to the sea. When the land is hottest the sea-breeze blows most strongly, and the land-breeze attains its greatest force during the coldest parts of the day.

There are, of course, winds produced by local causes. Proctor once wrote that the heat of the Sahara Desert in summer causes cool air from the Mediterranean to flow towards the south, the winds thus arising being called Etesian winds. At other times, owing to the cooling at night over the same great desert, air-currents flow from the Sahara across Sicily and South Italy, and sometimes as far as the Black and Caspian Seas, and, although dry winds at starting, they reach Italy as moist winds, after traversing a part of the Mediterranean. These often cause river currents. The Apostle Paul appears to refer to such a wind in Acts 27:14. The name Euroclydon is given by him to the wind which came off the south coast of Crete, and caused the shipwreck of the apostle upon the coast of Melita. The Sirocco belongs to this class of winds, causing a feeling of depression; but Proctor admitted that little is known as to the actual cause of those violent disturbances called gales and hurricanes, and it is not known why atmospheric pressure becomes sometimes very much lower than at others.

The Bible and Science, is the sub-title of what is known as Roger’s Reasons, a pamphlet in which the Bible is professedly upheld against certain Higher Critics. In this conversational pamphlet one of the Agnostics jeeringly speaks of “the mistakes of Moses,” and starts the controversy by asking, “What do you say to the Creation History in the first chapter of Genesis, and that gem of the collection, light before and seemingly without the sun?” This question is followed by the hackneyed statement, that “the Bible was never intended to teach science.”

But the Bible was evidently intended to teach cosmological science, or knowledge; as appears from the fact that it does teach it. So the writer of the pamphlet is, at the beginning, illogical.

Would it be possible for a theological text-book, purporting to come from the Creator for the guidance of His creatures into the way of obtaining Eternal Life, to contain blunders on the very first subject mentioned in that book? If such were the case, the Bible would not be reliable, and could not be from God.

But the subject of Creation is not only mentioned, it is taught in explicit terms, and the Bible has never been shown to contain a scientific error in its statement, that light was created before the sun. Light is described in a dictionary, as an imponderable ethereal fluid diffused through space, and opposed to darkness light being the result of force, caused by wave motion, i.e., the waves of the ether vibrate with almost infinite rapidity. Thus when the Spirit of God “moved” (or brooded) upon the face of the waters, the movement was made with a purpose which was consummated when the fiat went forth: “Let there be light! and there was light.”

I agree with “Roger” when he states, that the Bible generally explains itself; but he subverts the truth in an unwarrantable and awkward manner when dealing with such portions of the inspired Record as the following:

“God said: Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear. And God called the dry land, Earth.” Gen, i, 9.

And in Pet, iii. 5, we read of “the Earth standing out of the water, by the Word of God.”

Also, in Holy Writ, we are told. regarding the waters, that there is “a place which God has founded for them.” And that God “hath set a bound that they may not pass over.” Ps. civ. 8, 9. “He hath set a compass (circle, R.V.) upon the face of the deep…… When He gave to the sea His decree, that the water should not pass His commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth.” Prov, 8:27, 29. “He hath compassed the water with bounds until the day and the night come to an end,” Job 26:10.
