   I’ve done a similar experiment on a lake near me that is 5.3 miles across. With my 100x telescope at a 3′ height, according to the globe model, there should be 6′ hidden on the other side. There are zero hidden on the other shore. Middle of the day viewing is distorted by refraction when the air temp is significantly higher than the surface temp, so evening viewing time is best. Easy experiment to prove for yourself that the Earth is flat.
