What Is Mystery Babylon? What is the “Mystery”?
Babylon still lives. Scripture foretells, in Daniel 2, the evolution of world- ruling kingdoms from the time of Nebuchadnezzar until our day. The descending order of world-ruling empires was symbolized by a huge metallic statue with a head of gold, chest and arms of silver, belly and thighs of brass, legs of iron, and feet of iron mixed with clay. The spirit of Babylon was inherited by each following empire. Babylon’s spirit (the head of gold) was inherited by Persia. The spirit of Persia (the chest and arms of silver) was inherited by Greece. The spirit of Greece (the belly and thighs of brass) was inherited by the Roman Empire. And the spirit of Rome (the legs of iron) was inherited by the multi-headed Beast System of Europe and all the kings and governments of nations it has spawned. These European-type republics/democracies were represented by the statue’s feet of iron and clay. Today the United States, with its European-type government, falls into this category.
The US government is based on the Roman model, and proud of it. In fact, nearly all “republics” are Roman in nature. The Republic of Rome was the model for most modern republics – including The United States. The Roman fascist symbol (the fasces is a bundle of sticks bound together with a hatchet in the middle) is displayed openly for the world to see on the rear wall on either side of the chairman’s podium in the House of Representatives in Washington D.C. Rome lives today in republics and democracies on every continent. And in every place where Rome still lives, Babylon lives as well … through Rome. Babylon has lived through all those kings and empires that followed in her image.
Babylon exists. She is a real system … even though the whole thing is built on lies and illusion (like the globe earth). Babylon’s foundation is illusion and lies, but the system is made up of real people and real organized crime. Scripture refers to Babylon as a “mystery.” No doubt the mystery is the fact that Babylon is held up by popular belief in a secret foundation that the people don’t even see.
Babylon is a fact of life, like it or not. We have no choice but to cope with her. She affects us every day of our lives, and to ignore her is dangerous.
Life-as-usual in America means coping daily with Babylon, and it can get confusing. Confusion and illusion are her lifeblood … which is no surprise since her name is “babel” which means “confusion.” Babylon is a world of systematized deception and confusion.
Babylonians learn to be comfortable with confusion, deception, and illusion. They actually prefer it to truth and reality … because they, themselves, have been corrupted. Sadly, this is the case with the majority of Americans today. They resent truth. It has become a matter of principle to them. Illusion, aberration, and deceit are preferred … and reality is rejected.
A few of us still seek truth and like being in touch with reality. But for most, truth is shadowed by mountains of deceit. Institutions of education and religion don’t allow truth to come to the light of day. They generally serve up a cock- tail of half-truths which leaves students confused and their heads spinning.
The news media certainly doesn’t offer truth. Its owners carefully twist the truth and give us only what they want us to hear.
It has been this way in America for more than a generation … long enough that the average citizen no longer expects truth from anyone. In fact, most citizens actually shy away from truth because it can get them in trouble.
For government to prosper, truth MUST be suppressed. Truth and government (man’s government) are mutually exclusive. War is the first political tool for creating governments, and they say that the first victim of war is truth. War requires an environment of lies. Creating an environment of deception is necessary for government to flourish … and, of course, that’s where politicians come in. Reality is replaced by illusion. We must contend with Babylon.
We have no choice. It is around us, and among us. Our challenge is to walk through the valley of confusion … with- out being confused by it. This requires vigilance, determination, clear eyes, and a solid faith in Christ’s Reign.
To avoid being overcome by Babylon we need to develop an objective view of the many systems (worlds) around us. We must resist institutional lies and programs. In our beliefs, we must not defer to politically-deranged people around us. We must never become comfortable with confusion.
The masses become willing victims, and weak. They are compromised. When they quit striving for truth they be- come enemies of truth. That makes them liabilities. They cannot be trusted.
When a man’s mind is programmed to think Babylonian thoughts, he ceases to value truth. Truth becomes repugnant and hateful: a tool of “haters.” When deception is institutionalized, truth be- comes “hate crime.” As in George Orwell’s “1984” (published in 1949) the nightmare has become reality. Unsanctioned thoughts become “thought crime” and they can bring “Big Brother” down on you. This is surely the case now with the government’s new Gestapo called Homeland Security – (like “The Ministry of Peace” – “1984”).
Lies and confusion replace reality in Babylonian-type societies. In fact, they are enshrined. Monuments are erected to them. Such monuments symbolize the principles of Babylonians: i.e., deception, the worship of man, and the pursuit of power and pleasure. Monuments to these gods can be seen all along the grounds on Capitol Hill in
Washington D.C. Statues and monuments inscribed with mythical verse praising “human achievement” are at every turn. The display of Free Masonic artifices rivals the Acropolis of old Athens, the pyramids of Egypt, and the temples of Babylon. The monuments canonize deception and extol guile. Licentiousness and fornication also are indigenous to the Capitol Grounds. Politicians are markedly active in this particular homage. Of course, the whole political process is a pageantry to arrogance and self.
Here is the fourth basic: Babylon the Great has never died. She continues to this day in the governments and religions of the Earth that have inherited her spirit. There have always been these two options: Babylon’s system or God’s Kingship. Men consistently reject The Kingship of God. That leaves them with the only other option … the reign of Babylon.
WORLDS AT WAR
We live in an ongoing war of system -vs- system (world -vs- world). It is, literally, a “war of the worlds.” Babylon (the system of man) wars continually against Christ’s Reign (the system of God). The two worlds/systems exist simultaneously. People are divided along the lines of these two systems. Some choose Babylon. Some choose the Kingship of God. Some choose neither and become Babylonians by de- fault.
Babylon competes against the Kingship of God for the hearts and minds of men. These two kingships share the same space, and they oppose one an- other. One is the product of God’s mind, and the other is the product of man’s mind. We must understand this basic fact before we can begin to understand the rest.
We live with these two systems (two worlds), and we are forced to discern between them and choose one or the other. Sadly, very few people have identified them, much less made a good choice. To discern and choose correctly we need a good grasp on reality. Christ is the only one who can give us a grasp of reality and enable us to identify Babylon. There is no way but through Christ. Every other way systematically diverts us away from reality.
Religion is a diversion away from reality. Millions of church people think they are following Christ. They even claim to be “Christians.” But most are not. They are unwitting Babylonians, confused by religious myth. They do not know the real Christ. Some willingly choose myth over Christ and reality.
One may think it simple enough to discern the Kingship of Christ from the System of Babylon. The great differences separating the two worlds could not possibly be missed … or could they? Experience has taught me that the differences are either missed or ignored by most people today!
Just look at the profound differences and enmities separating church groups. It is not possible that they are all following the same God. Yet they all claim to be Christians. This conflict of belief proves that the church world does not really know who they follow.
One churchgoer may believe in a triune god (the Trinity) which they claim is one god in three persons … while another churchgoer may believe in a Father God and a Son God as two distinct individuals.
By the same token, one churchgoer may believe that the U.S. Government is God-inspired, while another church- goer believes the U.S. Government is anti-Christ,
These men can arrive at their conclusions based upon their religious faith which they claim is “Christian.”
One churchgoer may believe there is a “Hell” ruled over by a supernatural Devil, and that unrepentant sinners are sent there by God to receive perpetual punishment in flames and torment. An- other churchgoer may believe “Hell” is merely a word for the grave, and that there is no burning Hell for sinners.
One churchgoer may believe that good people go to and outer-space “Heaven” when they die. Another church- goer may believe people stay in the grave when they die, and are raised later to live on Earth.
One churchgoer may believe that Jesus was a Jew, and that the Jews are the Israelites of the Bible. Another churchgoer may believe that Jesus was not a Jew, and that Jews are not Israel- ites.
Obviously, all these men cannot be correct in their beliefs. They cannot all be following the same God or the same Christ. They may live in the same culture, and each may claim to be Chris- tian. But their opposing beliefs prove that at least one (possibly both) practices a false religion and is not following Christ. They cannot both be Christians. No doubt you have seen such examples.
This paradox DOES exist with our people! It exists in every State and every County in America. Many Americans accept and follow false information and false religion.
It is a fatal mistake to assume that Babylon is easily recognized by all. If it were easily discerned by the average man, it never could have achieved the success and popularity it has enjoyed throughout the ages. Babylon’s popularity relies upon man’s corrupt nature to blind and confuse him. Confused people do not know that they are con- fused. Rarely will a man admit that he is confused and needs help. Thus, mil- lions unwittingly accept lies and myths, and piously reject reality.
This problem threatens everyone today. No one is immune to the effects of institutionalized deception and con- fusion. Each of us need to regularly run checks on ourselves to be sure we are not taking too much for granted.
Identifying Babylon in contrast to the Reign of Christ is a discipline that requires practice and vigilance … and “eyes to see.” Too many people take this for granted, and that is why they get off track without realizing it.
Basic #5: Babylon exists today all around us. She lives and functions be- hind the trappings of church and state. Like the beast in Revelation 13, she ap- pears outwardly as a lamb, but inside is a dragon. Those who see only her outward appearance cannot “see” who/ what she really is.
Eyes that are empowered to accurately “see” the Kingship of God (Jn. 3:3) will also be able to see and identify God’s enemies. A man without “eyes to see” is unable to differentiate between his enemies and his friends.
BIBLE = DIAGNOSTIC TOOL
The Bible is a diagnostic program for Christians. As diagnostic software is used to test for problems in a computer system, the Bible can be used to test for problems in man’s thinking pat- terns. When we run diagnostic evaluations on ourselves – on our own religious and political views – we are analysing our basic thought patterns. We are analysing our methods for making basic determinations and judgments. For in- stance: ask yourself how you arrived at your opinion about important Bible matters. Is your opinion based upon your own judgment, or have you accepted someone else’s word for it without analysing it yourself? What, basically, is it? Where does it come from, and where is it going? Is the basic characteristic and purpose of this thing good, or basically bad? How much effort have you put into analysing the nature of it?
For instance, you might visit Washington D.C. and observe the grand architectural designs that make up the capitol grounds. The layout is impressive, designed to awe-inspire. The grand buildings and monuments evoke a sense of confidence and pride in the government … and in ourselves. In fact, Babylon of old was the same. Old Babylon was universally admired for her architectural grandeur, her temples, her gar- dens, and her monuments to the glory of government and the achievement of mankind.
Only when one steps back and in- quires into the basic characteristics and motives behind the buildings and monuments can we objectively discern why they were built and what they stand for. Beneath her aggrandized, awe-inspiring facade, Babylon was rotten through and through. The same is true of Capitol Hill today. The expensive grandeur on dis- play there is rotten to the core.
Babylon was built with men’s lives. Men’s lives were considered the least valuable of all its components (Rev. 18:9- 13). This principle was also used in the construction of the U.S. Government. The mortar and stone of its grand superstructure is mixed with the blood of men.
That which is built upon deception and crime must itself be corrupt … even if it has a grand and elevated outer appearance. Jesus Himself stated the principle. A bad foundation cannot support a good structure.
- A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Matt. 7:18
- Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
Matt. 12:33
Basic #6: God’s Word is to be used as a diagnostic tool to keep our minds and hearts healthy and in tune. Exam- ine and analyze your own thinking pat- terns and judgments, using the Bible as your basis. Don’t be fooled and neu- tralized by Babylon’s facade of grandeur. Don’t just memorize Jesus’ words, but rather learn his way of thinking. Don’t just read about Jesus and the apostles
… get inside their heads. See things from their view points. Use the Bible’s thinking patterns to run checks often on your own thinking patterns.
REALITY CHECK
Here is an exercise in basics. We need to become building inspectors. This model can be used as a template for examining foundations.
Let us examine the foundation of the U.S. Government to determine if it (and its beginning) is good, or evil. If the foundation is evil, there is no way the superstructure can be good. A bad tree produces bad fruit. It cannot produce good fruit (Mtt. 7:17-18). If the motives and foundational designs of the U.S. Government were evil, then the whole structure is bad. That is basic!
Let us look at the foundation document of The United States. The founding document is the Constitution. It not only defined that government, it vested it with powers to do what it does. The content of that document (the Constitution) reflects the motives of the men who created it, as well as the nature of the government itself. Thus, in examining the document we are examining the genetics of the tree.
The “Founding Fathers” wrote the Constitution of The United States to create a government that could insure its own survival and powers, and to control and manage its subjects. The primary purpose of any government is to perpetuate itself. This requires a military to protect it from any enemy … foreign or domestic.
The U.S. Government was created and sold to the public under the guise of being its “protector.” For this to work they needed a war to convince the people they needed a government to protect them. Most citizens accepted it as such. Government’s next act, once in power, is to perpetuate its control by establishing banks to keep the people in perpetual debt; and propaganda agencies (churches and newspapers) to keep people in perpetual confusion.
The reason for this, as all advanced politicians know, is that the most imminent danger to any central government is its own citizens. They can rise up and throw off the new government quickly if they’ve a mind to. Thus, the first order of any government is to subjugate the citizens and turn them into assets, (soldiers, debtors, taxpayers, etc.) for the benefit of government.
Governments are businesses. They are financed by extorting labor and property from the citizenry. Governments protect themselves by tricking and/or forcing citizens to fight wars for them. Any citizen who refuses to participate in the government’s agenda is labeled a traitor or a terrorist, and he is imprisoned, marginalized or killed.
The Constitution of the United States empowered Government to create its own laws (Article 1, Sections 1-5) … a power which God had reserved to Him- self alone (“You shall have no other gods before Me”). Understand … the Constitution did not enunciate a power of the people to create their own laws, but rather it gave power to the government to create its own laws … not for the protection of the people, but for ITS OWN PROTECTION.
Governments do NOT protect citizens. It is not government’s purpose to protect citizens. It is government’s purpose to protect itself, using citizens as disposable collateral and/or assets.
What does the Bible say about governments? After Israel was delivered from Egypt, God gave her his laws through Moses. She lived under God’s laws for approximately a thousand years with judges to interpret and apply the laws … and without kings to make laws or do away with laws. During these years Israelites lived free and flourished.
Then during Samuel’s term as judge, Israel made a change.
1 Samuel 8:
- Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel at Ramah,
- And said to him, … now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
- But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to Yahweh.
- And Yahweh said to Samuel, Hearken to the voice of the people in all that they say to you: for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.
- Now therefore hearken to their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly to them, and show them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
- And Samuel spoke all the words of Yahweh to the people that asked of him a king.
- And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horse- men; and some shall run before his chariots.
- And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.
- And he will take your daughters to be perfumers, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.
- And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.
- And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.
- And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your donkeys, and put them to his work.
- He will take the tenth of your sheep: and you shall be his servants.
18 And you shall cry out in that day because of your king which you shall have chosen for yourselves; and Yahweh will not hear you in that day.
- Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, No, but we will have a king over us;
- That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.
In essence, God tells us that to seek any government other than Him is basic idolatry. Any entity that has power to create or change law is a god. Any power YOU officially recognize to make YOUR law IS YOUR GOD. This basic evil is responsible for most of man’s sorrows. This, in fact, is the basic sin that tripped up Adam in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3). In short, it is the basic sin that underlies all of man’s problems.
No government of man that assumes power to make or change law can be anything but evil. The U.S. Constitution confers this power upon the
U.S. Government to create law, enforce law, and change law at will.
The Constitution empowers U.S. politicians to decide for themselves the amount of their salaries (Article 1, Section 6). This is a basic evil admitted by all. The government has always had “the best politicians money can buy.”
Politicians are always for sale to the highest bidders. Today politicians are so well rewarded by their financial “friends” that they can spend in excess of a million dollars to just campaign for election. If they lose, no problem. They can afford it. If they win, they get it back…and more.
The Constitution empowers the Government to tax its citizens (Article 1, Sections 7-8). Forced taxation is theft, and is one of the reasons Ameri- can Colonists protested and fought for independence from England in 1776. Yet, today, oppressive taxation is generally accepted in America. Americans wave flags and proclaim pride in their government while it bleeds them white and tells them it is good for them. The parasitic government is near to the point of killing its own host (the citizens), and shows no signs of slowing down. When the parasite kills its host it kills itself too. Maybe that is the only solution.
The Constitution empowers the Government to borrow unlimited debt on the credit of the people (Article 1, Sections 8) with no provision for collecting on the debt. Unlimited borrowing, with- out pay back, means unlimited funds. Unlimited funds mean unlimited power. This evil cannot be made to look right with any amount of deception or propaganda. There is no way to hold a government responsible for its actions when it has unlimited access to funds.
The Constitution empowers the Government to create and regulate its currency (Article 1, Section 8): a power that automatically corrupts government. This power alone is enough to enslave the people, regardless of who makes law or pretends to run the government.
“Whoever controls the volume of money in any country is absolute master of industry and commerce.”
— President James A. Garfield
“Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation and I care not who makes its laws.”
— Mayer Amschel Rothschild
The Constitution empowers the Government to raise its own standing army to defend itself and enforce its laws against anyone, foreign or domes- tic (Article 1, Section 8). Perpetuation of itself is government’s first priority.
The Constitution empowers the Government to declare and wage war at its own discretion with or without con- sent from its citizens (Article 1, Section 8). Through the War Powers Act, the U.S. Government is empowered under the guise of “National Security” to keep its motives and deeds of war hidden from its citizens. To invoke these powers government needs only to allege that there may be some vague threat to the nation. Meanwhile, the government and the news media conspire together to tell citizens anything they deem expedient to prevent them from knowing the truth. Under these conditions, there is absolutely NO WAY for the average citizen to address, or even know about, government’s abuses and wrongs.
The Constitution declares itself “the supreme Law of the Land” (Article 6) with no recognition whatsoever of the God who created this land or his laws that run the Universe. In so doing, the Constitution endows the U.S. Government with sovereign power that has NO PEER. The U.S. Government recognizes NO POWER ABOVE ITSELF.
TO SUM UP
The clear, unmistakable picture, produced from these points is this: The nature of government is at first to deceive the people into thinking that its purpose is to protect them. Then when it has seized power it subjugates the people to be used for its own purposes, to protect, perpetuate, and enrich itself.
To first gain power, governments lie, steal, and murder. To keep hold of power, governments lie, steal, and murder.
Governments rise to power on the premise that they will “serve and protect” the citizens … a claim that is patently false as any unprejudiced soul can reason for himself. Government subjugates its citizens and uses them for its own benefit. Government rides on our backs, but without gratitude for being carried. Governments act as if they deserve to be carried by us. In fact, they convince us they are doing us a favor by enslaving us and letting us carry them.
These principles are some of the basic foundation stones upon which the giant structure of the U.S. Government has been built. With anti-Christ motives and anti-Christ principles, the U.S. Government system is THE WORLD’S GREAT SATAN: THE HEAD OF THE BEAST SYSTEM OF BIBLE PROPHECY. Other governments around the globe are built on similar principles, but the U.S. Government is the head.
This reign of man seeks to destroy and/or murder any and all entities that oppose it. It also funds and justifies the unspeakable slaughter, by abortion, of millions of innocent unborn babies each year. Christ, and all things Christian, are hated and rejected by man’s government. No wonder central government’s target people who don’t like the mark of the Beast. No wonder Jesus was crucified by this same system two millennia ago. And no wonder this system still hates and fears Jesus.
Basic #7: The United States Government is evil. No amount of spin, deception or salesmanship can hide this truth. No amount of “patriotic propaganda” can make it look good. It was conceived in sin, and born in iniquity. It is based upon lies and illusions. It can only produce evil.
A PARADOX
With these points in mind, there is a paradox that confuses Americans. Americans like to believe that the Constitution and the Government are good, and that America is “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Believing this makes them feel good, and they like to feel good … even at great cost to their own character. In order to maintain faith in the faulty structure of the American system people must look away, and not notice the rotten foundation. They at- tempt to find an attractive façade, while ignoring the bad foundation and faulty structure.
The masses shamedly ignore government lies, thefts, and murders. Nonetheless, these things haunt them … especially since they are so obvious. It becomes increasingly difficult for them to explain away the evil aspects of government and keep turning a blind eye. Thus, the people unwittingly be- come incorporated into the structure of the system. They have a stake in it and willingly participate in it. They choose to remain ignorant of the rot in the foundation. They make up excuses to explain the obvious failures in the structure. The act of refusing to see the rot leaves them and the structure com- promised. Eventually, the whole Babylonian structure must come crashing down.
CONCLUSION
People need to go back to basics if they want to stop being confused. We all need to go back to basics. We need to ask the real questions about ourselves. We need to ask, “What kind of government do I support?” “What kind of religion do I believe?” “What kind of faith do I have?” “What kind of god do I worship?”
Each man’s way of perceiving God defines the state of his mental health, and his ability to find and apply truth. Men who worship the true God develop healthy thought patterns. They get the opportunity to grow, progress, and develop healthy lives, even in the face of constant insult from Babylon. Those who worship false gods are doomed to stunted lives and various degrees of mental paralysis and dysfunction. Con- fused people worship idols (governments, churches, occult fraternities, money, power, etc.).
Man’s quality of life depends totally upon his view of God. Above all else we need to know if we are looking to the right God, or to wrong gods. This, alone, is the basic question. This is the key to understanding your life. Get this answer right, and wisdom and quality of life will be yours.
- Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
- For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
- What father is there among you who, if his son asks a fish, will for a fish give him a serpent?
- Or if he shall ask an egg, will give him a scorpion?
- If you then, being poor, know how to give good gifts to your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give holy spirit to them that ask Him?
Lk. 11:9-13
