What If a World Leader Did What King Jehoshaphat Did
What Would Happen?
King Jehoshaphat and the Kingdom of Judah was facing a very serious national crisis. Three powerful armies—the Moabites, Ammonites and Edomites—had made an alliance with each other to conquer the smaller Kingdom of Judah.
When King Jehoshaphat was informed of the coming invasion of the large multitude of these three enemy forces, the Scriptures inform us that he “feared,” but “set himself to seek the LORD” (2 Chronicles 20:3).
In the next verse, we are told that the King gathered all of Judah together to ASK HELP OF THE LORD. The King Jehoshaphat followed God’s commandment of what to do in situations like these by going to the house of God (2 Chron. 7:14) and they:
1. Humbled themselves
3. Sought God’s face
4. And they turned from their wicked ways.
The kingdom of Judah was no match against these three ancient foes. In his prayer before gathered Judah (including their little ones, their wives, and their children; vs 13), King Jehoshaphat indicated such:
“For we have no might against this great company that cometh against us, neither know we what to do; but our eyes are upon thee” (2 Chronicles 20:12b)
The God of Israel was pleased with the leadership of King Jehoshaphat and his obedience. For as a result of his faithfulness, God answered Jehoshaphat’s prayer by sending the prophet Jahaziel. The prophet’s words were astounding:
“Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; FOR THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, BUT GOD’S” (2 Chronicles 20:15b)
Then followed one of the most unbelievable military victories in history. Like the battle of Jericho, this battle was clearly one of Divine intervention. And all the nations that were located in the Middle Wast knew it:
“And the fear of GOD was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel” (vs 29).
During the old covenant days, Israel was to gather and seek their covenant GOD at the Tabernacle/Temple when any four areas of evil came upon them:
1. The sword
3. Pestilence Or famine
In the previous story of King Jehoshaphat, the evil was the Sword. And so superior was both the infantry number and military strength of their enemies that they King of Judah readily acknowledged that they (including himself) “KNEW NOT WHAT TO DO!”
Today in the United States, the same covenant people of the same covenant God face another dire situation. While all four areas of evil are no doubt present or near—the most urgent evil is PESTILENCE.
DISEASE IN AMERICA
According to the World Health Report 2000 the United States ranks 12th out of 13 countries that were surveyed with regard to sixteen available health indicators. Even worse, the United States ranks last for low birth weight and neo-natal and infant mortality.
Heart disease, cancers, arthritis, diabetes, hypoglycemia, hyperinsulinemia are so widespread in the United States that it is estimated that over half the population exhibits one or more symptoms of these life-destroying diseases. Symptoms of adult onset diabetes are now being routinely noted in six year old children. Obesity and its related endocrine dysfunction are commonly observed in teenagers.
One hundred years ago most diseases in the United States were infectious diseases. But their frequency and fatality rate have been greatly reduced because of improved sanitation and cleanliness.
However, new diseases have appeared with much more devastating consequences. Not only are they fatal, but they rob the person of vitality and strength. They cause much agony and suffering. Loss of memory, loss of endurance, loss of energy, loss of general health to such a degree that many spend the last years of their lives as invalids.
One of these new diseases, practically unknown in the 1800’s is DIABETES. Surprising to many, diabetes has many symptoms:
2. Elevated blood pressure
3. Elevated cholesterol
4. Elevated triglycerides
5. Elevated blood sugar
6. One time strokes, both ischemic and hemorrhagic
7. Heart failure
6. Renal failure
9. Liver failure
13. Peripheral neuropathy
14. Polycystic ovary syndrome
15. Systemic candida
16 Impaired carbohydrate metabolism
17 Impaired fat metabolism
20. And others
So rapidly has this disease progressed in the United States that in a hundred years it has gone from a per capita incidence of only 28 out of 10,000 to over 5,000 out of 10,000 in 2004. At the rate it is accelerating, by the end of the next generation there will be very few individuals who will escape the clutches of this disease.
WHAT CAUSED DIABETES TO APPEAR?
Simply put, the cause of all these symptoms of diabetes is the violation of two of the Ten Commandments and one corollary that God gave to His people (Deuteronomy 5:17, 18):
Commandment #6 “Thou shalt not kill [murder]” Commandment #7 “Neither shalt thou commit adultery.”
Corollary: “The LOVE of money is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:10)
There are two types of diabetes: Type I and Type II.
1. Type I diabetes is when insulin is insufficiently produced by the pancreas.
2. Type II diabetes is the newer of the two. It occurs when the insulin is sufficient, but ineffective in reducing the blood sugar.
The obvious question should be what happened in the United States that caused the insulin that is produced to be ineffective in reducing the blood sugar in the blood? The answer would have to coincide with something that occurred in history in the early part of the 20th century that caused that devastating effect to occur.
The answer is important as it gives a key to preventing and
a way to be cured from these common diseases—ADULTERATED FOOD AND DRINKS

Most of the early efforts failed because people were inherently suspicious of food that wasn’t farm fresh and because the technology was poor. Crisco the artificial shortening, was once given away free in 2-1/2 pound cans in an unsuccessful effort to influence the United States wives to trust and buy the product in preference to lard.

With the advent of the depression of the 1930’s, margarine, Crisco and a host of other refined and hydrogenated products began to make significant penetration in the United States food markets. share and concentrated on supplying the military.
Flax oils and fish oils, which were common in the stores and considered a dietary staple before the American population became diseased, have disappeared from the shelf. The last supplier of flax oil to the major distribution chains was Archer Daniel’s Midland and they stopped producing and supplying the product in 1950. More recently, one of the most important of the remaining genuinely beneficial fats was subjected to a massive media disinformation campaign that portrayed it as a saturated fat that causes heart failure. As a result, it has virtually disappeared from the supermarket shelves. Thus was coconut oil removed from the food chain and replaced with soy oil, cottonseed oil and rape seed oil. Our parents would never have swapped a fine healthy oil like coconut oil for these cheap junk oils. it was shortly after this successful media blitz that the US populace lost its war on fat.
For many years coconut oil had been one of our most effective dietary weight control agents.
The history of the engineered ADULTERATION of our once clean food supply exactly parallels the rise of the epidemic of diabetes and hyperinsulinemia now sweeping the US as well as much of the rest of the world.”
What changed? The clean real food supply changed to an artificial, adulterated food supply. And as a result a epidemic of diseases. This includes godly Christians who rightly had forsaken the unclean foods.
THIS IS IMPORTANT! Christians must avoid not only unclean foods bur also adulterated clean foods; and fake artificial foods.
Artificial, fake sugars: Refined sugar (white), whether it is refined from cane, beets, corn or molasses parallels the refining process of heroin. Repetitive refining: from the poppy juices to opium, then further refined into morphine, and finally to heroin. Man-made sugars are refined several times until finally they are reduced to white crystals.
Artificial fake sweeteners: Saccharin is made from coal tar and formed by dehydrating saccharinic acid. Even though it is more than 300 times sweeter than cane sugar, it has absolutely no food value whatsoever, but causes a very acid reaction in the body. An even worse sweetener is aspartame (Nutrasweet). This excellent ant poison is made with aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methyl alcohol. Methyl alcohol is a chemical that breaks down in high temperatures and turns into formaldehyde and diketopiperazine (DKP); both chemicals are known to cause problems in the nervous system. The symptoms of aspartame are a lot like the symptoms of multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease as well as a connection to epileptic seizures and brain tumours.
Artificial, fake starches: Macaroni and other pastas are manufactured by removing the bran which is rich in vitamins and minerals. To the ground up wheat is added water—therefore a dehydrated paste food. Breads, cereals, cakes, pastries, donuts and other baked goods made from devitalized white flour are not only devoid of any nutritional value, but can be blamed for a vast majority of the ailments that afflict today’s civilization.
Artificial, fake fats: Lard, margarine and similar packing house products, fats, and greases, have their constructive nutritional value totally destroyed when they are heated to very high temperatures in order to process them. The cooking of donuts, french fries, fish (covered with dough and bread crumbs), and onion rings (which are coated with dough).; in deep-fat fryers cause the person eating them to experience the degeneration and disintegration of the body long before its time.
Artificial, fake beverages: Soft drinks, along with beer are two of the most dangerous of all the drinks. Mixed together are a man-made drug, a corrosive ingredient, carbon dioxide, coloring matter often made from coal tar or from the distillation of coal, or dyes, or heating aluminum with chlorine, or from dried and pulverized female lice.
Artificial, fake oils: Man-made hydrogenated oils are deadly oil when consumed. Created to help extend the shelf life of foods, it shortens the life of anyone who eats it.
In addition, since foods have been further adulterated by colouring agents for meats (sodium nitrites), food enhancers (monosodium glutamate), preservatives (yeast extracts), and substances created by high cooking temperatures (acrylamides), pesticides, herbicides, hormone injections, radiation, excessive sodium, genetic altering, and on and on and on … then in order to prevent disease, a Christian must
avoid all processed foods: that is, foods that come in a box or a can.
Why are many Christians sick? It is in most cases because of what they have eaten. Instead of eating real food that was created by God which would nourish and regenerate their cells, they have eaten man-made artificial foods that not only have starved and suffocated their cells but have also afflicted them with poisons.
Deception is an enemy of Christendom. Many assume that the Jews are God’s chosen people and as a result have a faulty prophetic and world view. Many assume that the food at the grocery store and restaurant are safe and nutritious, and as a result are suffering from all kinds of degenerate and disabling diseases. Amen.
